University of Ibadan set to increase tuition fee by 300 percent

University of Ibadan is set to increase the tuition fee of the institution by 300 percent, this agenda of the current administration is further set to bring additional hardship to the children of the poor masses, who are struggling to acquire basic education to the tertiary level.
While Nigerians await a meaningful resolution to the #70,000 minimum wage from the government of the three tiers, the only available gift is to increase all institutions fee which actually means: workers are subjected to a modernized slavery when compared to the #70,000 peanuts. Or do we say the government made it’s calculation based on the student loan made available to the institution? If that is it, the government have gotten it practically wrong as majority of Nigerian students might not find it easy and that might lead to mass exodus from the University. Nigerians should wake and engage the administration of PBAT against the unnecessary increase in tuition fees in all our tertiary institutions as this education still remains the only thing a common man on the street can still try to afford. |
