Urgent Appeal For Relief From Hunger And Pains In Nigeria -By Abdulsalam Mubarak Adio

The news of increased tuition fees in higher institutions, coupled with delayed implementation of minimum wage, amplifies the struggles faced by parents and guardians. We implore you to consider the impact of policies on both the learned and illiterate citizens.

Dear President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,

I begin with the profound truth that there can be no development where there is hunger. As a concerned citizen, I implore you to reflect upon the challenges we Nigerians face under your leadership. While you promised us peace and tranquility, the reality indicates otherwise.

Security concerns have escalated, leaving no region immune to the pervasive sense of insecurity. The subsidy removal, intended to benefit the masses, appears to show positive results only on biased records, exacerbating the plight of the poor.

Food, a basic necessity, has become unaffordable for many citizens, contradicting the essence of its affordability. The promises of renewed hope from our representatives and senators seem to be overshadowed by their pursuit of personal gain.

I humbly request information on the practical and theoretical reports of the palliatives sent to local and state governments. Observably, many governors mishandled these funds, depriving the common poor Nigerians of the intended relief.

Your encouragement for citizens to “Ẹf’ọkan balẹ” (relax) seems incongruent with the worsening hunger crisis and the security challenges we face. We cannot endure indefinitely; urgent actions are required to avert further suffering.

The videos depicting citizens shouting “Ebi npawa” (we’re hungry) during your convoy’s movement in Lagos State should be a stark reminder of the dire circumstances many Nigerians are experiencing. It is crucial to address these concerns promptly.

The news of increased tuition fees in higher institutions, coupled with delayed implementation of minimum wage, amplifies the struggles faced by parents and guardians. We implore you to consider the impact of policies on both the learned and illiterate citizens.

Lastly, I appeal for the establishment of patriotic task forces or monitoring squads to ensure the efficient execution of policies that directly affect the poor. Transparency and inclusivity will alleviate the skepticism surrounding the appropriation of grants and opportunities.

I express these sentiments not out of disrespect but as a plea from a poor Nigerian seeking relief. Your intervention is our hope for a better tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Abdulsalam Mubarak Adio
