VIDEO: Navy Officer Yerima Allegedly Trailed by Unknown Vehicles in Abuja After Clash With Wike
Nigerian Navy officer Lt. A.M. Yerima was allegedly trailed by unidentified Hilux vans in Abuja days after his clash with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. Authorities have launched an investigation as the Presidency intervenes in the land dispute.
Lieutenant A.M. Yerima, the Nigerian Navy officer recently involved in an altercation with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, was reportedly trailed by unidentified individuals in Abuja on Saturday night.
According to sources familiar with the incident, two unmarked Hilux vans with no plates or identification allegedly followed Yerima from the NIPCO Filling Station along the Kubwa Expressway to Gado Nasco Way.
The officer was said to have carried out strategic maneuvers to evade the suspected trailing vehicles.
The incident, which occurred around 6:30 p.m., is now under investigation by security authorities. A source confirmed that additional details are being withheld due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing probe.
Yerima had earlier been involved in a heated confrontation with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike in Abuja, an encounter that has drawn widespread public interest and divided opinions.
In the aftermath of the clash, the Presidency reportedly intervened, leading to the withdrawal of demolition equipment earlier deployed to the disputed land in the Gaduwa District.
