Every first of October we open our eyes and bite our lips to witness freedom and colonialism.

Our land has suffered imperialism and colonialism that she wept for freedom and I ask when is freedom?

It’s true October first we were freed politically, but our land still remained decolonized by us and I still asked when is freedom?

When imperialism walks freely in our land and bandits become chieftaincy title owners.

When our leaders become power drunk and terrorism wrapped her white garments of sorrow on innocent lives.

When is freedom? When we wake up everyday to find us fighting ourselves over religion and tribalism and our hearts become the waterfall of hatred.

When we forget that there’s unity in diversity and that America has fifty states and unity is pronounced.

When is freedom? When we forget China has cultural lineages and religious history but still maintain unity in diversity.

When is freedom?

When we live in fears and our land wept in agony like a new born baby

I said freedom is unity in diversity and tolerance.
