Land measurement and size in Nigeria

Permit me a space in your widely online paper to report the brazen land scandal that rocked kubau local government under the supervision of the chairman, Bashir Suleiman Zuntu, in collaboration with his co-travellers. Since the time he assumes office to date, the chairman has displayed arrogance and penchant for selling government land everywhere his hands will touch. Despite the facts, his government has been receiving huge amount of funds from federation account as grant, he performs abysmally low with nothing to show. His three years in power has been characterised by corruption and outright theft of public funds. His incompetence has come to bear in many public function he attends. He is being surrounded by illiterates and political sycophants who hardly advise him to do what is right. In the last three years, Bashir Zuntu, has sold Land belonging to Anchau Stadium, Dutsen-wai primary school, pambegua stadium and above all UPE primary school. Sadly, throughout this illegal exercise, the money generated has been outrightly diverted through proxies.

The last straw that broke the camel back was his attempt to sell the land belonging to government secondary school pambegua. The school was established during the administration of late Abdukadir Balarabe Musa in 1982. The chairman collided with the officials of Kaduna state geographic information Systems (KADGIS) and deceived the immediate past administration of Nasiru Elrufai which approved the building of layout in unused land in pambegua community. However, the proposed layout is to be sited in land belonging to the government secondary school pambegua. The wrong choice of the land has generated mixed reactions and verbal confrontation between various associations in the community. It is inarguably to state, the land has been using for agriculture demonstration and other fitness exercise by the students. Besides, his appetite for anything land, led him to confiscate other poor people farms without recourse to the due process. This wrong action has resulted to intense dispute between pambegua community and his administration.

What disturbs many people in kubau local government is the inability of the chairman to account for millions of naira realised from the sales of government lands and properties. This has raised millions naira questions begging for answers such as: why did he maintain a deepening silence since the time the land scandals under his watch is uncovered? Why did he fail to tell the good people of Kubau local what he did with the millions of naira accrued from the sales of government properties in the local governments. His failure to provide satisfactory answer from those simple questions elicited deep suspicious that the funds have been blindly stolen. The anti graft Commissions such as ICPC and EFCC should quickly beam their searchlight on the lands scandals rocked the local government. The chairman is being fingered to have corruptly enriched himself from the proceeds of land scandals that needs to more explanations.
