Wife of Immigration Officer Abducted in Lagos, Kidnappers Demand ₦3 Million Ransom
The wife of a Nigeria Immigration Service officer, Mrs. Ladi Abel, has been kidnapped along the Badagry–Mile 2 Expressway in Lagos. Kidnappers demand ₦3 million ransom after initially asking for ₦7 million. Police and NIS are investigating the case.
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Seme Command, Badagry, Lagos State, has confirmed the abduction of Mrs. Ladi Abel, wife of one of its officers.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Isaac Elijah, disclosed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday that the 45-year-old woman was kidnapped on Monday along the Badagry–Mile 2 Expressway.
According to Elijah, Mrs. Abel left her residence at Sawmill, Badagry, around 7 a.m. to purchase goods at the Trade Fair Complex when the incident occurred.
“One of the kidnappers used the victim’s phone to call her husband, CSI Abel Mada, demanding ₦7 million for her release,” Elijah said.
He added that the kidnappers contacted the husband again around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, reducing the ransom to ₦3 million “if he wants his wife alive.”
The NIS spokesperson confirmed that the matter has been reported to the Badagry Police Division and the Area K Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
