Zamfara Government Sets to Sponsor Mass Wedding for 200 Orphans
The Zamfara State Government, through the Zakkat and Endowment Board, will sponsor the wedding of 200 orphans on November 23, 2025, while also providing grants and starter packs for women in small businesses, poultry trainees, and computer-trained orphans.
The Zamfara State Government, through its Zakkat and Endowment Board, has finalized plans to sponsor the marriages of 200 orphans across the state.
This was revealed by the Board’s Executive Secretary, Malam Habibu Balarabe, during a press briefing in Gusau. He confirmed that the mass wedding will take place on Monday, November 23, 2025, at the Board’s headquarters.
Balarabe noted that all 200 beneficiaries have been duly screened and selected for the programme.
Aside from the mass wedding initiative, the Board will also extend financial support to 200 women involved in small-scale businesses to help strengthen and grow their enterprises.
He explained that 100 women have successfully completed a three-week poultry farming training and will be provided with starter packs to launch their operations.
According to him, arrangements have also been made to settle selected debt cases in Shari’ah Courts and correctional facilities across Zamfara State.
He added that several orphans have completed computer literacy training and will equally receive starter packs during the ceremony.
