Zamfara Govt Sponsors Indigenous Students for Pilot, Aviation Engineering Training at NCAT Zaria
Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has approved full scholarships for indigenous students to study as pilots and aircraft maintenance engineers at NCAT Zaria. The beneficiaries were selected on merit, with the government providing full academic and welfare support to build skilled manpower for the state’s future.
Governor Dauda Lawal has approved full scholarships for Zamfara indigenes to undergo aviation training at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria.
The development was disclosed in a statement by the Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Scholarship Board, Professor Rasheedah Liman.
According to her, the initiative aligns with the government’s Six-Point Agenda and Rescue Mission, with a strong focus on strengthening education and developing a highly skilled workforce for the future.
“The beneficiaries were selected strictly on merit, following a series of rigorous examinations and interviews conducted by the institution,” the statement noted.
Under the programme, the sponsored students will be trained as Standard Pilots and Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.
Professor Liman added that the state government has committed to providing all academic, financial, and welfare support needed for the students to succeed throughout their training.
“This strategic investment is aimed at addressing the growing manpower needs of Zamfara State, especially as the aviation sector continues to expand. Upon completion of their studies, the trained Pilots and Aviation Engineers will play critical roles in advancing aviation-related development within the state and contributing to national growth,” she said.
She reaffirmed that the Zamfara State Government remains dedicated to empowering youth, promoting excellence, and expanding access to quality education, particularly in highly technical and specialised fields.
