A Rejuvenated Tyrant In A Retired “Zombie” -By Richard Odusanya

Once a country is habituated to liars, it takes generations to get the truth back. Funny enough, even liars, thieves and looters talk so much about godliness with contentment because they see it as a powerful statement but not a right way of living.

Honesty is an expensive gift and should never be expected from cheap people. His thirty-four (34) point speech on January 1st, 2021, shows nothing but bad habits, which are like a comfortable bed; easy to get into but hard to get out of, as usual.

Bad habits are chains that are too light to feel until they are too heavy to carry. The worst part of it all is that a bad habit never disappears miraculously since it is an undo-it-yourself project. Unfortunately, an undo-it-yourself ability can and will never be found in someone trained to be a “zombie” who can hardly reasonably reason on his own.

AVM Nura Imam rtd, close to three decades ago ( about 30years), described men in uniform; the “zombies” as mad dogs.
Little did we envisage the rejuvenation of such degree of madness still in the 21st century. The madness has become an incurable plague, once again, in the last five (5) years. It keeps spreading its wings to enlarge his madness and message of sorrow, pains, death and abject poverty among the law abiding citizens of our great country Nigeria.

Tyrants look dumb to the word “human right”. It is always strange to them. In whatever language the word is written or spoken, they remain confused. To know the good from the bad, study a man or woman’s history of actions and not their record of intentions. The present captain of our ship is allergic to obeying human right; the initiator of the retroactive ‘Decree 4’ can never be a fan of human right.

His ability to lie, paired with an unaccountability, has made him a near infinite liability to our nascent democracy. What a mistake we made allowing a staunch enemy of a democratic setting ascend our most sacred political seat!

Dumb are those around him to think that screaming and repeating lies would make them true or believable. A promised security of life and properties turned out to be a reminder for another sets of kidnapping in Katsina State and fresh attacks in Kaduna State, where a chief Imam and two others were killed,in a new and promising New Year. Empty promises from an ever unserious and confused leadership!

Nigerians are too big to be caged by a servant employed to pilot their affairs. It is applaudable that Nigerians have found their voices to speak against this set of tyrants parading themselves as democrats.

A big thanks to Cardinal John Olorunfemi Onaiyekan, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah and other patriotic Nigerians for fearlessly speaking the truth to those who have chosen to kill our democratic system. A democracy will cease to exist when you take from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. There cannot be a better description of a democratic assassin than one that is graciously dwelling in nepotism.

It is surprising that virtually all the big wigs that initially supported the reign of the reincarnated fallen ‘Pharaoh’ have regretted it. The former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, could not but hold on to the fact that “Nigeria suffered from lazy and uninspiring leadership”. It is heartbreaking to see Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, a fervent supporter of this calamity that has befallen Nigeria, opened a book of lamentation ; “Those who should be serving the country have looted the country dry for reasons of their selfish and personal aggrandizement, such that our children and grandchildren no longer have a future “- Fr Ejike Mbaka.

In a democratic setting, the people have a right to be angry; a right to criticize the government, a right to protest against malfeasance, injustice and bad governance. So, why descend on law abiding citizens for exercising their constitutional rights?! Why has *Omoyele Sowore* become their headache when bandits and terrorists parade the streets with inexplicable temerity?! It is, however , not surprising because hypocrites get offended by the truth.

A government that is big enough for nothing can take nothing from its citizens except through pretence under the law. And, there is no great tyranny than that which is perpetrated under the shield of the law and in the name of justice. It is share wickedness for a president that kept his citizens under lockdown for months without palliatives to call such people “my fellow countrymen and women”.

“As your elected president, my pledge to you is the same as it has always been; I will play my part fully and without fear or favour”. Last year, he told us that his second time would be tough, and he has not gone short on his words. This is another warning that we should braze up for.

A fool would have to say something while a wise person would have something to say. Shamelessness and heartlessness at their peak when a leadership acknowledged the death of the youths they sent to their early grave. An effortless lie it was when a leadership claimed that his nation, one which citizens are chased around the world like dogs and beggars, was standing tall in the comity of nations.

Three things in the world that deserve no mercy are hypocricy, fraud and tyranny. Check our ‘Mr Integrity’ and there you would find indisputable samples of each of these unforgivable traits.

A man is not only right to disobey an unjust law and government but also obligated to do so. It is now the responsibility of every right thinking Nigerian to vehemently reject this “demonstration of craze” called democracy.

We cannot keep forgiving those riping our nation apart. If you forgive a fox for stealing your chickens, it will take your sheep.

Words are but dwarfs; examples are giants. We employed them and not the other way round. It is time to stop talking and through all constitutional means show them that we are paying them this much to serve us and not to bully us around with fear.

A hunter with only one arrow does not shoot carelessly. We have no other place to go if Nigeria crumbles. So, we cannot carelessly keep watching a minute group of wicked souls destroy the blessed land our heroes past suffered to build and defend with the last drops of their blood.

A single bee can be ignored. But when millions come together even the bravest run in fear. The one thing any tyrannical government fears is the day the people stand together. It is high time we came together and caged the “zombie” and his cabals before they physically and mentally render us all completely useless.

We have grown above fear and intimidation of tyrants. We have fought worse battles in the past and overcome. So, when you are asked , tell them of us and say for their tomorrow, we gave our today just the way our ancestors gave theirs to free us from the shackles of the invaders.

We have hidden nothing from the world; we have kept on raising our voices that the set of people that shoot themselves to power through questionable and fraudulent elections, has laid a serious siege on us to keep us in perpetual slavery, poverty and fear.

NIGERIA IS BLEEDING IN THE HANDS OF STONE AGE DESPOTS!

THE WORLD SHOULD, THEREFORE, COME TO OUR RESCUE!!

“THROUGHOUT HISTORY, IT HAS BEEN THE INACTION OF THOSE WHO COULD HAVE ACTED; THE INDIFFERENCE OF THOSE WHO SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER; THE SILENCE OF THE VOICE OF JUSTICE WHEN IT MATTERED MOST; THAT HAS MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR EVIL TO TRIUMPH “-Haile Selassie.
