A Revolution would have left us more wounded than a Protest match could have done -By Bright Chimezie Irem

Having come with a brand of Revolution instead of a more lighter one, protest, Sowore played himself into the hands of the states law, pinching himself against the laws of the land…

Given the fragility of some helplessly uncontrolled security environment in Nigeria, a possible revolution, if organized would have served more a trigger to the enemies of the state to catch up and cascade their agenda against the wills/plans and powers of the Apostles of Revolution .

A systemic review of groups of ethnic/religious-mediated movements that are fully armed waiting for a chance to happen, to give them a trigger-space to pull and then get many causalities recorded, advancing their own various agendas against the state and not even promoting the initial primary ideas of the revolution .

Take for instance, what seems most pressing to the Shitte group is not in any way of critical concerns to the IPOB, TIV/JUKUN, or OPC. How can you reconcile a chaotic environment where all these heterogeneous groups gather together to unleash their energy on all of us: traders, Mama Nkechi who fries Akara and Plantain by the corner, and the women trading on kola nuts and the brother, who fixes and patches the vehicle tyers by the corner in order to help the nurse/doctor answer a distress call in the hospital. You see how vulnerable we would all be when the revolution button is pressed. But then, an organized Protest targeted against a specific course wouldn’t have been a bad idea after all.

Painfully much, these causalities are almost always more of helpless citizens who do not either understand the grammar of govt or the complexity of policies. These are daily marketplace persons already facing enough challenges in their lives.

Should a Revolution happen now, you will see a Graduate form of Shitte Movement, an Advanced Effect of OPC and possibily a fellowship kind of regional shut down by IPOB, TIV/JUKUN and Niger Delta pressure groups. All these wouldn’t have been to the benefit of those you are trying to speak for.

If Mr Sowore have been more Civil in Branding his movement, he would have likely made a walkway for something that would add towards making govt better going forwards.

Recall the stand of Martin Luther King Jr Vs Malcolm X: one carved a path of peace and pallied with the govt in order to walk his people into the heart of govt and involvement in leadership, the other stroke the stick of conflict….and scholars have argued the efficacy of both, but accepted more of the peaceful walkway as being more effective given the racial situation of the country at the moment.

Having come with a brand of Revolution instead of a more lighter one, protest, Sowore played himself into the hands of the states law, pinching himself against the laws of the land…and as being reviewed by @⁨ Ahmed Adetola Kazim⁩ from the legal desk, qouting chains of laws and constitutional breaches.

Having had him arrested, the lawyers and Nigerians should press for the respect of his fundamental human rights by the agents of the DSS either by quickly charging him to court and/or possibly releasing him with/without conditions as the law also stipulates.
