Abba Kyari: Corruption And Criminality In High Places -By Richard Odusanya
There has been several cases of serious infractions ranging from corrupt practices and criminalities that has been swept under the carpet. Unfortunately, the case of DCP Abba Kyari will be extremely difficult for the usual presidential defense and subsequently disappear into the unknown, given that the Americans are not manipulative and run a system that cannot be faulted.
It was an American science fiction author and a multiple award winner, Octavia Butler who succinctly captured the whole essence of leadership and its consequences. He posited thus: “Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought. To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears. To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who controls the fool. To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen. To be led by a liar is to be ask to be told lies.”
It is with a very heavy heart and sober reflection that I will be taking a short break from the “Mind Restructuring” series, and consequently, continue with the “Search For A New Nigeria” series, number (27). Events in the past few days warrants for soul searching and embracing the truth. The truth is that we are completely in a serious diplomatic setback and a totally different collapsed system. Shame! Shame!! Shame!!! The shame of a nation.
About two months ago, an ex-United State ambassador to Nigeria, John Campbell (L), said it’s time for United States of America to acknowledged that Nigeria is a failed state. Campbell stated this in the light of the many security threats plaquing the country. I am tempted to agree completely with the season diplomat John Campbell. The situation has become much more appalling.
From the foregoing, NIGERIANS are going through excruciating pains raging from economic downturn, insecurities, poor leadership, election rigging, kidnapping, banditry,insurgency, cronyism, clannishness, nepotism and political instability. In the midst of the hardship occasion by irresponsible leadership, some irredentist characters backed by the state apparatus begin to carelessly engaging in ego tripping and flaunting questionable wealth.
For me, that was the height of irresponsibility, a clear demonstration of madness, a misnomer, insensitive, callous and senseless adventure to embarked on. The obsessed characters further showcased their connection with the government that pride itself as fighting criminality and corruption. So sad and unfortunate. This is certainly not the nation that our heroes envisioned.
It was not entirely, a surprise for certain DCP Abba Kyari, supposedly a super cop, who willingly identified with the shenanigans of the questionable characters by making public show of himself at the unconscionable occasion, and then be fingered in the international scam, wearing Nigeria police force uniform with a rank of commissioner. I waited for a response from the police high command on it, nothing happened. One would not be surprised if the “obituary Cubano” is the undercover warehouse for Abba Kyari’s proceeds from the “tailoring” deals. The Americans will ultimately find out.
As a result of the lack of response and possibly connection of the people in government, in that show of shame. As a result, some of us have had to write articles condemning the affront, the obscenities and lack of empathy that the occasion demonstrated and represented. While still pondering about the motives behind the show of shame, suddenly, the Americans showed up with damning evidence of collaboration with international scam by the supposedly super cop DCP Abba Kyari. The mood of the nation was further deepened.
A lie can travel half way around the world while truth is still putting on its shoes, yet it will catch up with lie. As a nation, and as people vulnerable to manipulation, we’ve been serially violated, cheated and lied to; we were deceived by the political elites benefiting from the rot; they sold a dummy to the unsuspecting gullible masses about a phantom integrity, only to discover that it was a packaged showbiz.

It is rather unfortunate and sad, that we may never be able to choose our leaders through a credible electoral process. The evidence is there and very clear. Therefore, we are calling on all men of good conscience to rise up and take back our beloved nation. The time is now. NIGERIA FOR NIGERIANS MOVEMENT.
