All FCT big road projects are 98% finished, says Nyesom Wike

Additional projects close to completion include the B6 and B12 Circle Road, also known as Independence and Constitution Avenue, and the full scope development of the Arterial Road N20 from Northern Parkway (Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Expressway) to Outer Northern Expressway (Murtala Mohammed Expressway).

The majority of the city’s key road projects are currently 98 percent finished, according to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, and will be ready for commissioning by May 29 to commemorate President Bola Tinubu’s first anniversary.

This was revealed by Wike on Saturday following his inspection of a number of projects, including the Vice President’s official residence, the development of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) from Villa Roundabout to Ring Road 1, and the Southern Parkway from the National Christian Center to Ring Road 1.

“We have kept our promise to the residents of Abuja. These projects not only fulfill a commitment but also showcase the potential for improved urban mobility and infrastructure under the Renewed Hope Agenda”, he stated.

Additional projects close to completion include the B6 and B12 Circle Road, also known as Independence and Constitution Avenue, and the full scope development of the Arterial Road N20 from Northern Parkway (Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Expressway) to Outer Northern Expressway (Murtala Mohammed Expressway).

The Wuye Interchange and Guzape Lot II District Infrastructure are also on track for completion and are expected to be operational by May.

“The President has given us tremendous support, and we are committed to ensuring that these projects are completed on time to ease traffic congestion and enhance connectivity within the city,” Wike added.

Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority FCDA, Engr. Shehu Hadi Ahmad echoed the Minister’s statements during the tour, emphasizing the expected benefits in reducing traffic congestion and improving transportation efficiency in Abuja.

The contractors involved reassured that they are dedicated to meeting the May deadline, aligning with the government’s objectives and providing necessary infrastructure improvements to support the city’s growth and development.
