But when the Fulani cabals came up with their political gangsterism, the south-western elites kowtowed, obliviously staking the future of the region.

Yoruba has been enslaved by the tribe called the Hausa/Fulani.

With a paranoid spirit in gestalt with an eerie heart that is cognizant of positivity, priority, posterity, and a lasting revivification, I write this article to all Yorubas around the globe.

Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, the 14th Aare Ona Kakanfo of the entire Yoruba Land, was denied justice by the then military Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, and later imprisoned by another military Head of State, Sanni Abacha. It all started when MKO Abiola contested using the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Bashir Tofa contested on the platform of National Republication Convention (NRC). The election was annulled on the ground that they were corrupt, whereas the obfuscating truth was that they knew that the election was in favour of MKO. It was said that almost 90% of the nationwide votes had been for MKO. Sequel to this, they came up with an Interim Government.

“Na democracy we wanted but they gave us Interim Government…” Apologies to Fela Kuti…

After three months, a powerless government called Interim Government, headed by MKO Abiola’s kinsmen, Ernest Shonekan, was given to us. After another three months, the powerless government was dissolved as a result of a coup that brought in General Sanni Abacha on the 17th of November, 1993. Abacha ruled this country brutally and autocratically. He arrested and jailed MKO Abiola on the ground that he proclaimed himself as the President contrary to the precept of the constitution. Abiola eventually died in prison and that was how the then Yoruba’s Are-Nakazato was killed. Sighs! “O ma se o!”

On the 9th of May, 2012, the then President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, wanted to change the name of the University of Lagos to Moshood Abiola University in order to celebrate MKO Abiola, but it was criticized by some political elites in the south-west and some notable myopic politicians in the country. But when the Fulani cabals came up with their political gangsterism, the south-western elites kowtowed, obliviously staking the future of the region.

On the 6th of June, 2018, the Fulani cabals headed by Muhammad Buhari declared 12th of June as the new Democracy Day in Nigeria in order to manoeuvre their way through the south-westerners to win the election. Those that rejected the idea of Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 then welcomed the 2018 offer. All the incidence came up when the 2019 presidential election was very close. What a shame on those politicians that supported the irony of the June 12!
I was perplexed on the 12th of June, 2018 when I saw some Yoruba leaders amidst the Fulani cabals celebrating the victory that was never enjoyed by MKO Abiola and the well-minded electorates in Nigeria. I almost cried when I saw Abiola’s daughter giving a speech in the gathering of those who killed her father all in the name of politics while the Fulani government was so happy to see the (mumu) fools from the west dancing to their evil tunes. Before the presidential ticket was given to Buhari to contest for the second term, there were grudges between him and the APC leader, Asiwaju Bola Hammed Tinubu, but the Hausa/Fulanis are pundits and second to none when it comes to politicking. They know how they manoeuvre their way to attain their goal. Tinubu did not initially support Buhari for 2019 Presidential run for the second term but he eventually succumbed. The patriotism of the Hausa/Fulani leaders to their tribe is second to none, but the contrary is the case in the south-west.

The second phase of Buhari-led administration started in May 2019 and another Democracy Day was June 12 in the same year. Since the beginning of Buhari’s second tenure, the Vice President – Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has been sidelined and he is given little or no regard in the administration. His constitutional duties are either taken to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs or performed by the late Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari. This shows that the Yoruba race has been used and dumped. The late Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, was a Fulani man. The newly appointed one – Ibrahim Gambari – is also a Fulani man. Is Buhari telling us that no Yoruba can serve in that capacity?

Still fresh in our memory was the prejudice against Brigadier Ogundipe. Brigadier Ogundipe was the most suitable soldier for the post of General Officer Commanding (GOC) as recommended by the then outgoing GOC, Major-General Welby-Everard. In a confidential report written in 1964, Welby-Everard gave Ogundipe a glowing reference but he was not appointed on the ground that he was from the south-west and because he had an affiliation with the opposition leader. Ogundipe was sidelined again by the Hausa/Fulani tribe immediately after the second coup in July 1966. Ogundipe was the most senior officer in the Army after the death of Aguyi Ironsi and was supposed to be installed as the next Head of State but the northerners refused to recognize him as their leader, claiming that he was from the south-west. Yakubu Gowon eventually took power from him. To mention but a few of the evil that the Hausa/Fulani has done to Yoruba.

We should not forget that Yoruba has been sidelined from independence till this time by the Hausa and Fulani tribe. But instead of us turning a good life and save odudua race, we continue to hobnob with the political muahahaha of the Hausa/Fulani race. When our own son, Olusegun Obasanjo, was the President of this country, he did nothing to his fatherland. What a shame and boo-boo on his person!

Today, being the 12th of June, another era has come to celebrate the failure of our hero, the injustice done to son of Odudua and the killing of the Nigerian prospective President, MKO Abiola.

I hereby urge and beseech the entirety of Yoruba race to resist the deceit of the Hausa/Fulani to enslave Yoruba and make us sin to our ancestors, “If tell gently one that we shall one day have to tell, if we cry roughly of our torment who will listen to our pitiful anger, who will listen to our largemouth? Kudos to Birago Diop on these lines.

It is high time we said no to administration based on sentiment. Democracy day remains May 29.Yoruba should stop playing the politics of hatred.United we stand! Divided we fall!
