Apostle Suleman Johnson And His Private Jet: The Boasting Of An Apostle Is Not Good For Christianity -By Isaiah Ogedegbe
In April 2019, Apostle Suleman Johnson bought a private jet, which was widely reported in the media and also attracted criticisms as well as commendations. But the Apostle later came out and said that he has just begun buying jets. He aims at buying 50 jets and so those people complaining should get ready to complain even more. His statement was a boasting that was uncalled for. What I expected him to say is that “I have what I have by the grace of God.” Unfortunately, the Apostle did not attribute his achievements to God, but instead said he will buy 50 more jets as if it is within his power to make that possible.
Apostle Suleman Johnson could have done better things for poor people than buying himself a private jet. Even if I have the money to buy a private jet, I won’t buy one with the high level of poverty around me. I will use that money to empower the poor people around me, send indigent students to school and provide the much needed electricity that Nigerians will appreciate more than a private jet.
