Arewa Girls Versus Arabian Abaya -By Abdulaziz Isah Bagwai

•Abaya as the name suggest here in Nigeria and any other country is a foreign female cloth originated, sewed and imported from Saudi Arabia, it’s en-sewed completely from head to toe i.e in full without any other piece(s) in different as a bit to make it complete. Abaya is an opposite to the male’s Jallabiya which is also from Saudi.

In the recent days(years) here in Nigeria Abaya is just like other wears but, from the beginning of this ongoing Ramadhan Its has trended and still trending beyond expectation, rounded all over the Social Media platforms. The topic which was initially brought by the northern Tweeter users whom were well-knowingly known in living fake life.

Abaya is currently been sold at a price of about N15k in the market which is just the beginning compared to how things are going up in Nigeria when Sallah festival is approaching, the current price of Abaya which will be enough for a lady to have about 5 sets of our local homemade wears is quietly surprising to have them spent on a single one(abaya).

Dear ladies especially those from less-privileges background; counsele yourselves and think about your possibilities of earning what you want! It’s quietly sad you’ve this mere nightmare during the daylight, some of your parents must undergo hard-labours before the meal of your houses be guaranted then, how will you approach that same man who washes his hand-up when his stomach is groaning of hunger just to let your younger siblings get satisfied such a matter of impossibility? I bet he’ll called you a mad yes, he’ll certainly!

And seemingly the most jeopardized ones among you could gave themselves to men for exchange, what a crudity and rudimentary of the highest order! This is the saddest part of the tale, your parents have been on your guide since your birth but, on a mid-sun-day you destroyed their plan. Do you think God would forgive you when this happened?

And to you brother, I bet you’ve siblings if not; cousins, nephews, nieces and much more closest relatives from that gender(female) then, how will you feel if same story with that you’ve given to somebody’s family given to yours by someone? Heartbroken right? Then, why won’t you think about this wise saying ‘what goes up most surely come down’? Maybe you’ve forgotten and before that I reminded you learn to control your desire and heart, don’t let Satan to influence you over what you’ll cry later.

From the begining of this baseless challenge I think you’ve seen where it may lead some victimized Insanes among you, please learn to bear with a situation, in this life nothing will be permanent even the life of this world itself. Everything has time if you’re today tomorrow it’ll be someone, believe me you it has taken a longer period of time for this Abaya-challenge to last a week after sallah nothing more about it will be remembered again even the cloth itself, only the half-naked pictures of the dumbasses will be on trend with a caption ‘Hausa/Arewa girls are turning to something else (because of the exposed body they shared)’ but nothing more than that.

Appreciate the little you has and seek more from Allah, He’ll certainly surprised you with His bountiful of blessings here and hereafter.
