Babagana Kingibe commends Chad’s progress to their historic presidential election

Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, Special Envoy of the Summit of the Heads of State and Governments of the Lake Chad Basin Commission, has praised the efforts of Transitional Authorities, Chadian citizens, and allies for their contributions towards peacefully establishing a democratic constitutional order as Chad prepares for its crucial May 6, 2024, presidential election.

Ambassador Kingibe and his group have been actively involved in assisting Chad’s Transition process since May 2021.

Even in the face of difficulties and the occasional argument, the people of Chad have demonstrated tolerance for one another, patriotism, and a willingness to make concessions in order to promote a successful, stable, and peaceful democratic society.

In his recent statement, Ambassador Kingibe urged all Presidential candidates, Political Parties, leaders, and citizens to maintain peace and order throughout the election period.

He emphasized the importance of awaiting the official announcement of results by ANGE, the legally authorized body, and encouraged the peaceful resolution of any grievances in accordance with electoral guidelines and legal processes.

As Chad approaches the final stages of its transition journey, Ambassador Kingibe reiterated the unwavering support of the Lake Chad Basin Commission’s Leaders.

He expressed optimism for Chad’s future, anticipating the peaceful inauguration of a new democratic constitutional order in the country.
