BREAKING: Fish out Benue IDPs’ killers, MACBAN urges Buhari

The Miyeitt Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria in Benue State has called on the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), to ensure that the perpetrators of Benue killings are fished out and be made to face the wrath of the law.

The organization also stated that it looks forward to the incoming government in the state changing the narration.

State Secretary of MACBAN, Ibrahim Galma, made the call on Sunday while reacting to the recent killings in the state as he condemned the attack.

He noted that despite all the efforts of the union in collaboration with the farmers association in the state, people with criminal elements were still wreaking havoc in the state.

He expressed strong optimism that the incoming government will restore confidence between farmers and the association.

Galma, who spoke in a phone chat, said, “We condemn the attack in totality. We MACBAN are working hard, we are working together with the All Farmers Association of Nigeria in the state as well as security agencies to make sure that peace and harmony are restored in the state. But, bad people are still causing problems, killings here and there.

“In fact, we see the governor-elect Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia as a good person and we hope he will change the situation and narration of the state for the better.

“The relationship between the herders and farmers will be restored so that harmony and coexistence of the two groups will be established.

“We have full support, respect and hope for the incoming administration, though bad elements are still causing problems in the state.

“The MACBAN on behalf of our people in Benue condemned what happened recently in Otukpo and Guma LGAs in totality.

“We are not in support of the killings. We are for peace and we hope to give the new administration maximum support so that peace will return to the state.”

In a related development, the displaced persons who survived the attack at LGEA Primary School Ngbam in Nyiev Council Ward of Guma Local Government Area of Benue have fled the place

The survivors have fled the school to different places. Some were said to be staying with their relations while others had gone to stay at Ortese camp.

“But all the IDPs have left the camp for fear of being attacked again. I went there this morning and saw the camp empty and when I inquire to know I was told that they have relocated,” the chairman said.

Uba added that all those who were killed in the attack had been buried as directed by the governor.
