By being timid, miserly and indecisive, Peter Obi substantially sabotaged the collective aspirations of many young Nigerians -By Chima Christian

Those who have eyes know that the first round of 2023 was a huge waste of opportunity. I have prayed for Peter, may the second leg of the war, which is now raging simultaneously on several fronts, not be another waste of opportunity.

To be sure, Peter Obi diagnosed Nigeria’s situation rightly. He presented the most compelling narrative of a new Nigeria. Not only that, he, though training and uncommon discipline, equipped himself with the right governance credentials to execute the purposes of God for Nigeria this season. However, by failing to mount up the spirit of might, Peter Obi betrayed the organic support God so graciously granted him.

There should be no pretenses, the battle for the soul of Nigeria is an all-out war. Peter Obi has just a tiny window of time to grow into the man God has ordained him to be. He must painfully unlearn miserliness, timidity and indecisiveness.

Peter Obi may not know this: He did not receive the kind of mental capacity to acquire the resources God graciously gave to him for him to stack up those treasures in bonds, instruments and investments. God so empowered him financially for such a time as this. By falling in love with the money God gave him for a specific project, and restraining himself from spending that money in the right quantum for God’s purpose, Peter failed an important heart test.

By failing to execute to the best of his installed capacity, Peter Obi betrayed the collective aspirations of many young Nigerians who aspired to become Nigeria’s president through him. Peter’s character which helped him mount up with wings has now become the greatest impediment to his execution of God’s policy for Nigeria.

Those who have eyes know that the first round of 2023 was a huge waste of opportunity. I have prayed for Peter, may the second leg of the war, which is now raging simultaneously on several fronts, not be another waste of opportunity.

Africa’s morning will come.
