Covid-19: Will The Poor Survive? -By AY Struggle
With lockdowns currently going on, the basic necessities for the sustenance and security of the poor should be put into consideration by the government of Nigeria.
The Covid-19 might have been taken with levity if the population affected were in the class of the poor but 90% of those affected were of the ruling and rich elites in the country who out of their ego helped in the importation of Coronavirus. If poverty can be handled this way, Nigeria would have recorded credit in the fight against poverty.
Millions of Lagosians, Abuja and Ogun residents who are destitute, daily workers, unemployed or underemployed should be put into consideration before total lockdown is put in place as hunger might even kill people more than Covid-19.
