At Goodison Park on Saturday, Idrissa Gueye’s incredible goal at the 60-minute mark against Brentford was sufficient to keep Everton from relegation.

After the win at home, Sean Dyche’s team has 35 points, is in 15th position, and will compete in the Premier League the following year.

The game began at a slow pace, with little open play produced by either team and a heavy reliance on set pieces.

It seemed like the Bees would be the team to break the tie, and Jarrad Branthwaite’s outstanding block kept them from doing so.

The game failed to pick up steam in the first half, with neither team even managing a shot on goal. Instead, both teams employed intense defensive strategies that made it tough for their opponents to break even.

Just eight minutes into the second half, Dwight McNeil’s long-range attempt struck the crossbar and narrowly missed the goal.

However, a few minutes later, Idrissa Gueye pounced on a loose ball to give the Toffees the lead with their first attempt on goal.

As Brentford attempted to equalize, Jordan Pickford stopped a blistering shot from Keane Lewis-Potter.

Everton, on the other hand, was content to hang onto what they had and continued to pose a danger when they broke.
