Ex-Female Presidential Candidate Adesanya-Davies Eulogies PDP Women Under the aegis of “PDP Angels and Queens”
Adesanya-Davies is the current Country President and International Director of United Nations Positive Livelihood Award Centre (UN-POLAC) International Peace Advocates. She said that, “when intelligent, dedicated and women of excellence are empowered and put in top political positions, corruption, lack of development and all forms of vices and violence in their entirety can completely be exhumed from Nigeria.”
– Re: PDP Women Vow to Mobilize over 45 million young Nigerian Women to support the women folks for 2023 Election
Ahead of 2023 presidential election, the Presidential candidate of Mass Action Joint Alliance MAJA, one of the Parties in Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), Prof. Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies, a formidable personality and candidate in 2019 presidential election and a current PDP Presidential aspirant for 2023 election has congratulated the PDP women, under the aegis of “PDP Angels and Queens”; who have promised to support female candidates by mobilising over 45 million women, on January 28, 2022.
The “President of PDP Angels and Queens, Ms. Chinenye Ubah, stated this on Friday during a press conference in Abuja, as reported by Callistus Offor. “The women under the aegis of PDP Angels and Queens, also warned the male politicians, who think the women folks cannot participate actively in the political decision of the country.
Ms. Ubah, who decried how women folks are relegated to the background in politics cautioned the men saying, “We want to unequivocally state that gone are those days when women are relegated to the background in politics; we want to warn those men who believe that the role of a woman should be restricted to the other room; we want to warn those men who believe that women should not hold political positions, it’s the “DAWN OF A NEW ERA”.
“PDP Angels and Queens have come to right those wrongs. We will contest for every contestable position, from President down to Councillors, we will ensure that women are not just seen but heard, we will be very VOCAL. We will ensure that our role will no longer be just in the other room but in the room where political decisions are taken”.
The PDP women leader also assured the party’s National Chairman of victory in the forth coming presidential election. “Elections are won in Nigeria with less than 20 million votes but Nigerian young women are over 45 million, so who says that we cannot singlehandedly produce the next President? “We will work hand in hand with our National Chairman, SENATOR IYORCHIA AYU to ensure that PDP rises again”, she said. Ms. Ubah stated that the PDP Angels have come to stay, adding that Nigerian women must be liberated politically.
“It is a known fact that the men have ran down the economy of this country, corruption has been the order of the day, insecurity has plagued our nation as we can no longer sleep with our two eyes closed, our women are being raped, children are rendered homeless and poverty has become our middle name”. “The women must take their rightful position in politics. We must get women to actively engage in politics so that we can produce better leaders”, she said.
SO BE IT! Adesanya-Davies added, and “I say thank you to this formidable women group and our leader. I appreciate and celebrate you all! I will contest! I have a dream, that one day, a woman will emerge as the President of Nigeria, and the dream is now!!! We, women need to try our best in 2023 at all levels. From now onwards, every woman should endeavour to speak to at least fifty women to vote for a ‘woman President,’ in Nigeria.
So, tell five women daily from now till 2023 elections. Remember, Martin Luther King Jr. said, ‘Your happiness starts from you and not from someone else.’ So should all the Nigerian youth and all the ‘He for She’ and all the men campaign and vote for the first female president in Nigeria in 2023. This could and would be the only remedy functional approach.
As such, towards 2023 elections, we need all hands to be on deck to mobilise all women in the country from the state level to the grassroots, educated, illiterate, northerners and southerners, Christians and Muslims to vote for ‘a women president,’ and also vote for women at all levels. Though the educated women who realise this are fewer, they should drive their non-educated women in the larger community in the grassroots to achieve this goal and vision.
God bless you all!
