The Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has emphasized that his administration’s development agenda extends beyond road construction and housing projects to include significant investments in health, education, and human capital development.

The governor made the remarks while commissioning the Ahoada Zonal Hospital, a project he inherited at its early formation stage from previous administrations. Expressing pride in the achievement, Fubara described the inauguration as the culmination of years of dedication to improving healthcare across the state.

“The commissioning of Ahoada Zonal Hospital is part of our broader plan to strengthen healthcare delivery across Rivers State,” he said, assuring residents that facilities in Degema and Etche would also be completed and operational before the end of March next year.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh, highlighted the administration’s achievements in primary healthcare and presented awards recognizing Rivers State’s consecutive three-year win as the best in primary healthcare in the South-South region, with each award carrying a prize of $500,000.

Oreh also detailed that the Ahoada Zonal Hospital is a 105-bed secondary facility spread over four floors, with separate blocks for staff quarters, marking a significant boost to healthcare infrastructure in the area.
