Presidential hopeful Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described his 2027 presidential ambition as a national movement aimed at liberating Nigeria and restoring the nation’s prosperity.

Speaking in Makurdi during the inauguration of his state and local government coordinators in Benue State, Olawepo-Hashim said his aspiration transcends personal ambition, stressing that it represents a collective effort to rebuild Nigeria’s economy and reposition the nation for greatness.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Kamadin Sanni, the PDP chieftain said:

“This is not just my project; it is a movement for all Nigerians, our children, and future generations. It is a project to turn around our country and make it once again a place people aspire to come to — not what we have today, where our brightest minds are leaving for greener pastures.”

Olawepo-Hashim emphasised that his campaign seeks to restore Nigeria’s global image and make it a nation admired and respected by others.

“We want to rebuild a country we can all be proud of — a country where foreigners would come to seek greener pastures, as they once did,” he added.

The presidential aspirant urged the newly inaugurated coordinators to take the mobilisation effort to the grassroots, saying victory in 2027 would depend on community-level participation.

In his remarks, the Benue State Coordinator of the campaign and former Acting State Chairman of the PDP, Mr. Isaac Mfo, described Olawepo-Hashim’s presidential project as divinely inspired and called for total commitment.

“Benue has over one million votes, and it is our duty to mobilise those votes for Dr. Olawepo-Hashim. Let us carry out this assignment with faith and determination to deliver this project to the glory of God,” Mfo said.

Similarly, Mr. Sunday Sado, Special Adviser on Political Affairs to the aspirant, said the movement represents hope for Nigerians facing economic hardship, insecurity, and leadership failure.

“God has brought Dr. Olawepo-Hashim for a purpose — to liberate our country from the pains we are currently facing,” he said.

Responding on behalf of the 23 local government coordinators, Mr. Emmanuel Ortserga pledged their readiness for the campaign, expressing confidence that their collective efforts would lead to victory and celebration in 2027.
