Have You Taken This Vaccine? -By Joe Dauda

Ask yourself some simple questions and you will realize that fear (and it’s cousin, worry) are both baseless. Just like worrying cannot add to your height, fear will not improve your situation or even your ability to cope if the worst happens.

The reason why the Bible says “fear not” is because God knows that, after the fall of man, fear has become natural for human beings.

But we are called to “mortify the deeds of our members (natural body) through the Spirit . . .”

So next time you feel fear, don’t be alarmed. Just remember to “fear not.” That means you should “not” the fear. Cancel the fear.

By faith

By trust

And that is the vaccine you need to take — a double dose. And if you want a booster, then add patience because, no matter how much faith and trust you have in God, there are certain times when things just don’t seem to add up and you must wait for God’s time.

There are things you cannot control. The recipe for fear is foolishly focusing on these things. You have limited energy and time: use all of it in the things you can control: do your best and leave the rest.

Enjoy a fear-free Sunday.

And may God have mercy on all of us.
