How dare you Nigerian criticise President M. Buhari? -By Florence Ozor

When President Muhammadu Buhari was in Daura tending to his cows no one bothered to find out how his cows faired. Now he is President, a job that comes with criticism as being president is a responsibility.

So you understand why I laugh, though not out of humour, when I see citizens coming on so strong on other citizens for daring to point out the flaws of my President.

Courtiers and praise singers have never been in short supply even predating the Romans era. Why am even sighting an example from that era? Look how praise singers pushed Former President Jonathan to political ruin. When people were killed by terrorists they tell the president “no they are not dead they are sleeping and pretending to be dead just to make you look bad” and my former president then smiles and comes out to tell us that Boko Haram are our brothers and we shouldn’t kill our brothers!…..and many more deaths followed, so please indulge us if we aren’t cutting President Buhari some slack.

Apologies again that our deactivated ‘mumu button’ cannot give the same privilege we accorded PDP for 16yrs to APC. I apologise but I am not sorry.

Somehow I’m beginning to think APC took up the Change mantra to mean change in government and did not truly weight what the word CHANGE encompasses.
Well while we were chanting Change and they were singing it at their rallies….We as citizens know what we meant by the CHANGE we chanted and kicking Jonathan out of office was the least of our definition for Change.

I’m disgusted when I hear some of our current public officials excuse their non-performance on Sabotage….really?
And to hear Mr President also dance to this age long tune is utterly insulting to the millions of Nigerians who paid the price for his presidency.
Mr President and his team KNEW the challenges they were up against when they pleaded for our votes.
Sounds just like when Jonathan “helplessly” cried that Boko Haram was in his government….and many “felt” for him. Excuse my inability to be empathetic to nonsense.

Excuses leaves you in denial of your responsibilities. The awilo tune of blaming the Jonathan administration for the problems are excuses! Not that last administration wasn’t the worst so far but you knew the problems and campaigned for a chance! Do your best and stop this childish trait of dodging blames.

The power of the executive is unbelievably enormous!
Saboteurs? Fish them out and send them on their way to jail or out of office and busy yourself with the delivery of the value you promised. If you cannot use the power of your office in good judgement, you should not be in that office.

I laugh again not in humour at the seeming “punishment” of the staffs who participated in the “padding” of our 2016 budget.
The tragedy of their action is that we are where we are now because there aren’t resources to work by each ministry, if they hadn’t padded the budget and Nigerians didn’t fish out the corrupt budget we would have been on the road to some sort of recovery as a nation.
Now, since when did redeployment become a commiserate punishment for budget padding? Hahahaha…..Oh I get it…..redeployment will serve as a deterrent to others with the tendency to misbehave! Genius!

Your patriotic responsibility to Nigeria is to ensure that Public Officials up their game each time.
Your citizenship holds you into account for your role or lack of it in governance.

Please do your civic responsibility and hold officials accountable to their actions or in actions.

1: The earlier Lai Mohammed realises that he is a Minister of information for the Federal Republic of Nigerian and not the “APC Opposition Spokesman” the earlier he can save us the embarrassment laced with lies. We do not deserve this.

2: At what point will the President address the murderous impunity of Herdsmen?

God bless Nigeria.
