Insecurity In Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi: The Way Out -By Bulus Chongsu John

Just of a recent there were issues of missing bikes in the school premises. One thing that bothers me is the way thieves operates without fear of being caught in the process. Do they even think about the punishment they will get when caught? What measures are the security personnel taking to tackle this menace? I can equally say that the school security needs support from the Nigerian force to put a stop to this challenge.

Kidnapping and kidnappers in Nigeria

It has become a serious issue in Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi as students belongings such as phones, laptops, bikes and other items are been stolen.

The issue has been on an increase as it has gotten to the extent that thieves enter hostels to steal students properties. This has affected the peace enjoyed in the institution during the past years because students end up accusing themselves whenever an items gets missing.

Insecurity is something we hear far away but in this recent years, Nigeria as a whole has been faced with insecurity challenge most especially the northern state like Jos, Katsina, Maiduguri, and other states in the north.

The security department has called on the rector of the institution Dr. Hassim Sabo Bello to support them through increasing Manpower and build fences to surround the school as it will help alot and ease the stress for them. The department pointed out that the Rector is trying his best in seeing that the problem is brought to an end.

I can say the Rector is taking a bold and good decision to bring the challenge to hault but he needs to try harder as the issue of insecurity is not a matter of joke.

Apart from stealing properties, insecurity has caused lives of many people in Nigeria and has affected the peace and harmony enjoyed by the citizen because no bother is to be trusted anymore. How long are we to continue this?

What wrong has students done. Is deciding to school now an offence. Look at how students in Plateau state University are fighting for their lives. This is a clear example of the security challenges students face on various school. What is the government doing about it? For how long are we students going to suffer this? I still ask myself this question ” is schooling really accepted in Nigeria”

My heart bleeds each time I hear how my fellow students are been attacked and killed for no reason and measures are not taken to stop the wicked act.

I advice the students to form groups that will work together with the security department as that will help to minimize the challenge in various institutions.
