In a country where we are facing serious security threats due to lack of quality education and prevalent illiteracy especially in the North. Any action or inaction that would add to the already disturbing drop out rate should be avoided.

No doubt, kaduna state is witnessing unprecedented series of vices in the forms of kidnappings, banditry and carnages of all forms and magnitude in recent years. The most dastard so far is the activities of kidnappers against the state’s education sector that’s aimed at undermining the government effort towards bolstering education. Doing anything that may force youths out of school is synonymous to playing to the tune of enemies.

We are therefore calling on Kaduna State University, and Kaduna state government to reconsider its decision of increasing of tuition fee, which parents of vulnerable children can’t afford especially at this point in time, where the economy is not performing better.

Parents and guidance find it very difficult to attain basic needs, talkless of sourcing fund to take care of their wards educational needs.

At this juncture, I appeal for government and all stakeholders to reconsider, we expect reduction in the tuition fee, for parents to be able to pay for their wards.

The point of concern is that, when left unchecked, there’s high tendency of school drop out, which would add more injury to our present predicament.
