To be honest with ourselves, katsina South Senatorial district is in danger. For over two years , we live in a storm cloud that is ravage by greed, impunity, misrepresentation and mal-administration. This is not a time for mere political bickering. It is a time for home truth and we seem to suffer parsimony in that regard. Our senator at the Upper chamber of the National Assembly has failed us virtually in all ramifications. Our hope in the last two years and more swings in the darkness. The glory we opted for have changed to gory.

Our Senator did not live on their promises, as federal constituency projects are far-fetch. Our Senatorial District seems to be living in denials, employment opportunities still dormant. Above all, the interest of the district has been dump in a political dungeon. In terms of credible representation, even the smallest village of katsina South Senatorial District (Funtua zone) am sure cannot guarantee the continuity of the old order.

In the literature, a senator is out to represents the collective will of his electorates and ensures the socio-economic and political well being of his district, aside making laws for the good will for the nation. However, our experience in the last two decades is a display of parochial politics for cheap political gains.

Besides their mediocre and feeble representation, their lackadaisical posture to sponsor a bill counts. Never in the last two years have we seen any meaningful project credited to their office. In addition, our senator have been acting truant in relationship with their communities. Never, (except during elections) in the last two years have we seen them organize town hall meetings to listen and articulate the yearnings and aspiration of their people. Their presence are perceived during elections period. This by implication, keeps this communities a far distance from the government at the centre.

The youths, graduates in particular have been running helter-skelter in search for a niche to carve for themselves. Many efforts to reach our senators proved abortive due to their consistence absence minded from their people concerns, this indeed, put the hope of the youth to earn good job shattered in smithereens.

Despite this vortex of political impunities, social carnage and poor representation, it bewildered my mind whenever I watch, listen or read their intention to seek for re-election.
