President M Buhari

Some straws were first to break the camel’s back not the last. Mostly we do forget there were straws before the last straw that broke the camel’s back, don’t we? Okay, Let me take you through the shortest cut for the shortcut will make it a journey of no return.

How I wish this would get to the hearing of the first citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and other body in the consignment of Buharism, to have a taste of my National Delicacy.

I could recall a report from the Minister of humanitarian affairs that Nigerian with a history of at least 5,000 Naira in a bank account would be excused from having a share of a so-called National cake of #10,000, not verified though, but rumor trends perfectly in Nigeria.

It has trend often to believable, that private businesses had been sentenced to death due to lockdown imposed by Government in containing the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, while workers risk being fired more private firms and establishment had collapse indefinitely.

The private school remains closed while a teacher in such schools has their salaries either hanging, undisbursed, or deficit. I can’t say actually but am very sure that small scale private schools teachers were not paid a dime as unpaid salaries queued up.

Conversely, Government workers either of State or Federal as at this moment receive their salaries untouched, even after easement in Lockdown, while same Government insists a conditional cash transfer to Nigerians with a stinking condition attached, isn’t that wonderful enough?

Those private workers who are affected by the partial Lockdown are mostly teachers of private schools, not disputing the fact that other private workers are also inclusive; but it is a percentage of 70/ 30.

Strictly speaking, without any room for National insubordination, it is a miscarriage of justice that our Government is nursing injustice with Lockdown, at a time the country’s economy is nothing to write home about. Being nonchalant at the current state of private establishments workers in Nigeria, is a clear indication of future unemployment explosion in Nigeria, are you doubting that?

Without any iota of doubt private establishments had over the years rescue the Nation unemployment scorecards through employment by both large and small scale firms Nationwide, take some moment to checkmate my assertion in banks and private schools in various states in Nigeria.

Statistics hold that in Lagos State alone, about 6,083 private schools were registered in 2016, showing the rate at which private schools increase in Nigeria.

Recently, most banking firms have fired workers due to the pandemic lockdown, Access Bank has done enough for us to understand, while teachers of most if not all Private school Salaries are either slashed or not paid yet the Federal Ministry of Education had of recent maintain its stand that school remains closed Nationwide.

And appeal to our wonderful Government is to administer Justice to private establishments workers at this trying time, to mercifully look at the fact that these people in question also have a family to take care of. Let every Nigerians believe Government is truly for the people and the less privileged.
