It is no longer news that the youths of Irigwe was killed about 22 innocent Muslim travelers at the Gada-Biyu area of Jos-Zaria road on Saturday 14 August of 2021.

People from different parts of Nigeria have lost their lives on this death trap of a road, and yet the government has failed to bring the perpetrators of this indecent act to book.

It was reported that suspected Irigwe youths have killed twenty-three travelers mercilessly on their way to Ondo state from Bauchi after they paid a new year visit to Islamic cleric Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi. This is uncalled for and the government at all levels should act as a matter of conspicuous urgency in tackling this heinous crime in our society.

If such tragic events continue to happen in those areas of Northern Jos, there may be a harsh response from youths living around other areas to address it as retaliation.
The fears of following that way by most people from areas of Bauchi will persist, as long as the government doesn’t intervene in critical crimes like these.

However, the suspected ‘Irgwe militia’ should be brought to book for changing the security situation of their criminal acts, it is unfortunate that security circumstance it seems to be increasing and getting scary, that suspected militia, if get over to such action without facing justice from the government.

Nonetheless, this is not the first time these people are killing innocent citizens, the corpse of General Alkali was also found in a pond in the area, indicating that how Nigeria fail as a nation.

Sadly, His Excellency, Governor Simon Lalong had in a phone call told his counterpart colleague, Ondo State Governor that the incident was a case of mistaken identity. Governor Lalong’s statement would ignite another version of the crisis. Because his statement is like telling people that the perpetrator’s primary mission was not on those who were killed.

We all know that no religion has justified the killings of innocent people whether Islam or Christianity, but unfortunately we are causing problems to ourselves.

We are sick and tired, it’s high time government finds a lasting solution and the perpetrators of this ungodly act should not go unpunished, we don’t want to see the time that people will start to retaliate.
