Labour announces an indefinite strike on Monday over in the minimum wage and electricity tariff rates

Because the federal government has not been able to reach an agreement on a new national minimum wage or roll back the increase in the price of power, Organised Labour has announced an indefinite statewide strike that will begin on Monday, June 3.

Remember that on Friday, the Opinion Nigeria exclusively revealed that if the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage fell short of Labor’s expectations, organised labour, operating under the auspices of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and its counterpart, the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), might declare a nationwide strike starting on Monday.

At briefing, leaders of NLC and TUC pleaded with Nigerians to bear with them, saying “Apologies for inconveniences but commitment to pursue the cause to its conclusion.”
