(NIGERIA : A Case Study).

Leadership I thought was a selfless service to make virtually all happy. Leading by setting positive examples, be bounded and confined by the tenets of constitution of the land. More often than not, all these seem otherwise and my thinking faculty unable to process what’s actually going on in the Continent of Africa. Perhaps, leadership has gotten new definition and analysis apart from the one I knew which is the process of leading toward the realization of a set goal and objectives of what you assumed leadership upon.

Virtually, most African countries are faced with bad leadership, this of course will make one to pounder if this is hereditary or it’s a cause from above? Funny enough, those leaders preach and appear to be strong but deep down they’re losing there sanity and don’t want to leave power.

Democracy in most African countries are being challenged which Nigeria is not exclusive. There is not doubt that the citizens have their fair share in the blame we should all know that once the head is faulty, definitely the rest of the body won’t be anything different. Not until we get it right at the leadership position, wallowing in misery will always be the end product.

The type of leadership we want start from our conscience, our ideas and aspirations toward the government of the day, politics is a call for all. ‘I don’t care attitude won’t solve anything’ and the idea that only prayers should be the only solution without a quick pro-active and strategic approach to the situation on ground will eventually lead us to distaster. Even the Holy scripture foretold that ‘heaven help those help themselves. At such:
– The citizens should begin to have a redefine ideologies toward the politics of the day
– Democracy wasn’t formed to make politicians semi god.
– Avenue to demand for accountability should be initiated and acted upon.
– Leadership should cut across all spheres of life.
– Common ground for common man to exhibit his/her potentials.

Leadership is all about creating a well established and favorable play ground for all. As a leader, you need not to listen to your heart alone but the yearning of all your citizens so far such is not against humanity nor antagonist to the detect of faith. At such:
– We want the leadership of creating common ground for all.
– Leadership where this country enable you to make use of your talent.
– Leadership processes that listen to all not some segments of the country.
– Leadership that acts according to the dictate of constitution. Nothing is permanent and you’re expected to be in the best of your character as nothing last for long. For you’re in a position today doesn’t mean you will there forever. Take a look and tend to evaluate the previous leaders. It’s a matter of time. It will be of great benefit to record a good legacy that benefit humanity not because of your generation alone but for the hereafter .
