Mind Restructuring: Educational Advantage Of The Mind And Heart -By Richard Odusanya

The most powerful thing in the world is the human mind, the mind is the engine room of life, it is also the battle field of life. The mind is the set of faculties responsible for mental phenomena. Nevertheless, the mind is feeder instrument of the heart. “Guard your heart with all diligence from there comes the issues of life.” This is a clear validation of the importance of the mind and the heart by the holy book the Bible.

The mind and the heart belongs to the realms ‘watch; a place for inner light, strength and built-in discoveries ‘vision’ however the place of the heart is deeper than the mind. Therefore, the saying that If you educate the mind without paying same attention to the heart… that education is useless. It is the core reason why, the third world countries remain mentally exhausted and the inability to achieve the desired objectives of education and religion in Africa and the other third world countries.

Having established the roles and responsibilities of the mind and the heart; it is pertinent at these time, to begin to dissect the twin instruments of life and its functions. The mind is most often deceptive and dangerously proud, the evidence is there in our system. Whatever you feed the mind with, it gives you instantaneous velocity and acceleration formula of the same thing; while the heart is deeper and more comfortable with beyond the physical, these aspect could be part of the reasons why the ‘heart’ was emphasized by the scripture. We sure need to continue to interrogate that aspect more and more.

The issue of educating the mind and the heart, attracted my attention to a notification; at the entrance gate of a university in South Africa, the following message was posted for contemplation “Destroying any nation does not require the use of atomic bombs or the use of long range missiles… It only requires… lowing the quality of education and allowing cheating in the examinations by students..” parents die in the hands of such doctors… Building collapse at the hands of such engineers… Money lost at the hands of such accountants and economist… Humanity dies at the hands of such religious scholars… Justice is lost at the hands of such judges..”the collapse of the education, is the collapse of the nation.” This is our reality as a nation, a sleeping giant and the largest population of black race.

These painstaking exposē and the continuous variable statistics for rediscovery of grace, is inexhaustible, and we shall continue to dig and digest the consumptions as we continue to journey towards the biblical promised land together in faith and unity. It is a social malady that requires Reform; it is our joint responsibilities; it is a clarion call and a call to duty for all of us. We sure need to arise and shine.

We are not pretending to be saints, but we are desirous of pushing for a complete overhaul and reform in our system. We will continue to appeal to the conscience of our compatriots home and abroad for partnership on these painstaking effort, until we accomplished the onerous task of building bridges and an egalitarian society; we need a new Nigeria; we need a paradigm shift; we need team spirit. We are also closely monitoring events in the polity, hoping for a change of heart from the present political gladiators and other influencers in our systems. The African Renaissance needs reawakening. God bless Nigeria! God bless Africa!! God bless the universe.
