Mrs. Esther Toweh: Celebrating A Sweet Mother in Nigeria

On 5 April 2023, the mother of this writer was a year older just as she was celebrated by her three children: Isaiah (first child and only son), Onoriode (first daughter) and Ovuakpor (second daughter and lastborn). We took to our Facebook pages where we wrote about our beloved mother.

I wrote, “Join me to celebrate my sweet mother, Queen Esther, the best mother in the whole world. She is plus one in this month of April. A God-fearing woman with integrity, hardworking and industrious, full of wisdom and a woman with a heart of gold.”

My younger sister Onoriode wrote, “Growing up with you gave me a strength that I can’t even fathom. You’re the virtuous woman the Book of Proverbs talked about. It’s how you adequately filled the vacuum my dad left and never made us miss out on anything other kids with father did.”

My youngest sister Ovuakpor wrote, “She’s strong, loving, godly and a fighter. Despite all we’ve gone through she’s still smiling, because looking back it’s enough to be joyful. Age gracefully, ma.”
