NAF C-130 Aircraft Touches Down in Portugal for Routine Maintenance
The Nigerian Air Force has ferried its C-130 aircraft, NAF 913, to Lisbon, Portugal, for routine depot maintenance as part of efforts to sustain fleet readiness and safety.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the successful ferrying of one of its C-130 aircraft, NAF 913, to Lisbon, Portugal, for scheduled depot-level maintenance.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information of the NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
According to Ejodame, the aircraft departed Nigeria on a planned ferry flight that included stopovers in Banjul, The Gambia, and Casablanca, Morocco, before arriving safely on Thursday at the OGMA maintenance facility in Lisbon. He noted that both the aircraft and crew arrived in good condition.
He said the operation was carried out in strict adherence to established aviation safety procedures, stressing that all personnel involved remain safe and in high spirits.
Ejodame also commended the host authorities for their support and cooperation, while reaffirming the Air Force’s commitment to “the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and operational accountability.”
He explained that the maintenance exercise is part of the NAF’s continuous efforts to sustain operational readiness and ensure that its aircraft fleet remains fully mission-capable.
