Nigeria and the unending madness of insecurity -By Manasseh Allen

But the problem is not the inaction of our Government, it is not the silence of the President and the security apparatus that Mr president refused to overhaul, the problem according to government loyalists and sycophants is ‘WE” that are saying people are being killed.

81 people (HUMANS BEINGS) were killed in Borno in a single attack, 6 were killed a day before, 10 abducted, trucks were highjacked between Damboa and Maiduguri with foodstuffs and many were injured in the attack, 50 HUMAN BEINGS (not numbers) in Katsina state, this means Nigeria lost over 100 human beings in attacks by terrorists and the ones they called Bandits (I don’t know the difference still).

But the problem is not the inaction of our Government, it is not the silence of the President and the security apparatus that Mr president refused to overhaul, the problem according to government loyalists and sycophants is ‘WE” that are saying people are being killed.

They want us all to be blackmailed into their false narratives that, by calling attention of government whose sole purpose of its existence is to provide us with security of lives and property means we praise Boko haram more than soldiers or government. That will not work and will not affect those who are consistent in demanding for action.

We know very well that Boko Haram is never a match to any of our security forces, and we cannot assume that people’s lives does not matter. We cannot assume it is normal to just treat these people as ordinary statistics, they are not, and will never be.
They deserve justice, because they committed no crime, rather it is the Nigerian state that failed them and provided nothing to develop them and continue to fail them by providing no security at all till they are massacred in a broad daylight and nothing happened to their assailants, they still plundered them, abducted many and left unchallenged.

Please any politically advantaged person that thinks, that by us saying that Boko Haram are very much around killing us means praising Boko Haram, be rest assured we shall continue saying so until when we are set free and could go to our farms and places of business and come back alive, until we can freely use our closed or periodically used Federal roads that have been under lock and key because of terrorism on our soil

How can we still have Broad Federal Highways closed up for use of citizens for the fear of Boko haram attacks? And some privileged individuals will be struggling to shape the false narratives and want us to accept and praise their mediocrity.

We didn’t beg any elected or appointed official to contest election or accept appointed, as such we will keep demanding for accountability of the lives of those we lost, and on fulfilling your constitutional mandates more especially when you stood on podiums and shouted “what is Boko Haram?” and when you appointed security chiefs keep sending false success stories day in and out.

Where are the indicators of the successes of the war on terror? What we still have is terrorism on all sides. Those who may say “it wasn’t like this before” my bad is better than your bad is not governance. Those who may say “we are not appreciative of the efforts of the fighting forces” we also have friends, families and loved ones that have been consumed on the front lines, we know the real patriots doing the work sincerely.

Bottom line: 81 killed in Gubio, it may be your Village and your state next time and the coffins will be lined in front of your Family compound.
