Nigerian Journey Of Insecurity So Far: Measures To Tackle The Ongoing Nasty Scenes -By Abdulrahman Yunusa

Honestly speaking to say Nigerian government have woefully failed Nigerians on security aspect is a cogent description of the word ” understatement “. Years prior to date people have experienced a tough and terrible moment in the hand of bloody devils called Boko Haram to which most of the direct victims are from Northeast region in precise. Though government was and is still trying but their effort is fruitless at all cost. Perhaps at the beginning of this journey my psyche whisper me to cite one quote which may perturb our government to take extra care and measure in it fight against evil plotters if they really mean business. ” If we don’t end war, war will end us ” HG Wells. It’s high time our government take heed to this.
As times goes on, in the year 2014/15 when the insecurity worsen much, everyone delve in to the ocean of thoughts thinking who to elect as president to save them from sinking because the ship was about to sink at then. Therefore, the people of Nigeria unanimously came up with an idea of voting Buhari to do job for the love and unwavering trust they have upon him as former military general who is having an excellent reputation of being man of Integrity.
His reputation as man of a rare Integrity among his type couple with his historical colorful military experience is what lured many to go for him helter skelter as their choice to be their messiah at that odd hours not knowing that he was just analog type in the military circle whom his past experience wasn’t enough to make him fit to rule a chaotic country as this and also integrity alone without competency is not enoug leadership attribute to help him cope with such Nigerian awkward situation.
Furthermore, Almost every nook and crannies of this country were sank in the deep ocean of fear and panic as the monsters keep been brunt and continue hitting every angle dastardly at that particular moment. So after he was voted in to the power in 2015 that incident marked his first reign as civilian president of Nigeria and also a second person to serve Nigeria under dual leadership system to which we normally refer to as ” Military and civilian ” government apart from Obasanjo ( OBJ)
Similarly, as Buhari move to take the steering of leadership affairs in June 2015, honestly almost all Haynes and beast who are ravaging the country with their evil plans ranging from corrupt practices within the ambit of government and other heinous security problems that are causing people lives and properties were halted at that moment by their irresponsible masterminders. That’s symbolizes an era of holistic silence with deep sense of anticipation that the man who is fit for the job has came to liberate the victims of poor governance.
But sadly the moment they realized he is just as inactive as cool water that doesn’t boil or evaporate due to lack of total focus, then the aggrieved monsters got back to their daily monstrous routines by killing and distorting our economy and maiming the innocent souls brazenly within the country which up till dates we are witnessing. How I wish he was the man we have heard in the past, by now it could have been a different story apart of which are seeing currently.
Until when we reach the ending point of his first tenure under democratic settings without achieving a milestone development from the aspect of economy, security and jobs creation as he promised during campaign then he pitiably plead us to get him more chance to actualize his sumptuous dreams to Nigeria greats in order to makes the lives of Nigerians colorful as well. With no hesitation with the tremendous help of religious clerics around the country he got reelected as president to exhaust his second tenure.
Concomitantly, As we move forward under his shabby watch the economy nature and the security state of the nation remain stagnant or I may say it keeps deteriorating looking at him inflation is consuming our economy madly, meanwhile there was nothing explicable and tangible good to show that would makes people commend him wholeheartedly as price pays for his achievement as president
However, despite his incessant failure as a president whom he enjoys massive love and support from his citizens, he failed to appreciate their unprecedented patience and optimism for there was a time that he even possessed to gut to shamelessly dare called Nigerian youths ” lazy Youth” after all the burden of contribution they showered him in his course of political journey, that was then and that’s how he wrongfully treated his allies.
Moreover, As insecurity saga persist in the country, despite people high level of patience towards his ill treatment upon them, the president a times even fail to acknowledge his people perseverance when it comes to failure by commending their wonderful habit of sense of patriotism. They further manage not to rain commotions with all of his sluggish attitude as their sailor whom he failed to save them from drowning. They however choose to give him all the excuse he demanded but up till now he keep exhibiting failure all the times, its so irritating sincerely.
On the other hand, his gallant men are now apparently weak with battle against terror for the simple reason that the kind of treatment they receive from his government is extremely unfair as they are wallowing in such precarious terrain with poor technical equipment which are mainly for attacking and enjoying defense purpose with. Apart from that no allowance that will ginger them do the work as they should do because the Ill act of corruption has penetrated the military jury too. This is very nauseating reality which everyone among Nigerian citizens are lamenting upon because they are losing their dear ones among the armies who are been killed by the imbecile called terrorist..
And today that we reach 2021 while the awful security incidences are vigorously thriving and blossoming in a bizarre style with no terminal point, yet no improvement rather the narrative also remain unchanged then how can we keep being optimistic with such unadjusted war tactics against terror that often prove us wrong by giving us negative results all the time. Until now we get realized without extra care toward the military the fight against terror will perpetually becoming futile till no ending time.
So Now that the Country is bleeding exorbitantly almost from every angle what can we do to put a stumbling block to the ongoing diabolical issues. It’s obvious to all that Borno is still on fire under Boko Haram, Zamafara, Katsina, Kaduna and other Northwest states also are under the other bloody terror cliques called marauding bandits and kidnappers while the most serene area of the country which is southern part of the cointry it is now also now on fire under the hand of ” Unidentified Hoodlooms or unknown gun men ” (sic) yet both are striking ebery anglesl with full gusto and no one is there for the rescue mission towards the waeker armless citizens.
MY THOUGHT AND SUBMISSION TO THIS VERY MATTER !
Historically war, conflict and disunity all are part and parcels of human life. We can’t do with free of such a society but allowing them to thrive is a choice. Therefore, at all cost govt must work to curtail all sort of nonsensical act under it watch else the unfolding event will consume them at any moment.
Well, since its the primary function of each and every responsible government to protect the lives of its people and their properties under any system and under no any circumstances such primary duty might be taken away from it yoke but ours, in our case and at this daring moment they fail to discharge their duties diligently by securing our lives and properties. Then I as a concerned Nigeria i can suggest that Nigerian government should move to pave away to other registered nongovernmental security agencies like community security organization such as Civilian JTF and their types to thrive and see what they can do at their capacity.
And they can also do that if they can only support them with weapons and provide them with more security personnel since there is short manpower in the security agencies of nowadays Nigeria as a result of losing a certain considerable number of securities to this seemingly unending war against terror. Though its another point to take, every responsible government must fear the proliferation of weapons in the hands of ordinary civilians but as a matter of fact this scary situation can warrant such gambling in order to elude collateral damage.
However, it’s not necessarily for government to form those voluntary security agencies itself because there are many in existence which all they are in dearth of is just both extrinsic and intrinsic motivation from the government. Within the security vote budget let each and every state deduct something to find those organization for they will definitely help at every level knowing even if they fail to act they will be the first to be slain by those death merchant who are marching towards their settlement day and night.
At this juncture we can cite one affected area as a case study and as they said ” Experience is the best teacher ” then if that’s true, With Borno state Civilian JTF one can understand how relevant and imperative such paramilitary organization are to the peace of any society because they sometimes act more active than the Nigerian armies simply because they are in deep knowledge of the terrain more than any soldier among Nigerian military. It’s their home and they know where they can start with to put a stumbling block to the ongoing mess.. As Hausas says ” He who owns the room knows where is leak ” therefore collaborate with them and help them protect their boarders for by making them strong it can help in eliminating the root cause to terrorism in Nigeria.
Thus if government can’t afford to buy this idea of reinforcing self defense through the avenue of community paramilitary apparatus then it should take away the latent weapons and archaic war tactics thereby exposing them to the world of modern sophisticated weapons and more proper modern war tactics against terror, this could help if they aptly and judiciously use the resources they have at hand. Moreover, when it comes to the welfarism of the military the government should focus more their allowance so as to makes feel concerned and loved by the government and everyone around the country and failure to do so might cripple them more. Also, for government to have this fight easy it must ensure that :-
– there is available job opportunities in the country to which such will help in reducing the rate of unemployment
– they cope poverty with all that they have at their disposal for scholarly reason that ” poverty is the mother of all crimes ” As Aristotle stated.
– they tame hunger by resuscitating agriculture through provision of farm tech and other chemical appliances at subsidize rate.
– they reduce the rate of joblessness which are the bedrock of any criminal practices in every country.
– hold traditional rulers accountable for they have an eye upon almost all that is going within their jury, it’s either some have no power to stop the criminals or they are being part of the criminal gang.
– they censor media houses against spreading fake news that might trigger and ignite the fire of disunity among Nigerians.
Therefore the more govt put the necessary measures in place, the better for them to tame these gloomy insecurity trends.
Failure to hold the bull from the front and failure to succour Nigerians at this trying times will do more harm to the general populace in regards to that sensitive matter and its of greater paramount to let the leaders know that when city is on fire the governors find it hard to sleep in peace talk less of governing for they know at any moment they can lose the seat they are bragging and flaunting with, because once there are no masses then the end of their leadership reign is over because without the existence of followers leadership is nothing. That’s the rule of nature, power exist where there is kingdom and without people there won’t be a kingdom.
Meanwhile leaders should lead with good heart, heart with devoid of sentiments and bias. I said this because when they appear to be impertial at the course of discharging their affairs then nepotism which is a factor that ignite the fire of hatred and disunity among people in the country it would cease to exist and as such both leaders and people will enjoy a rattling leadership. And any leader that honestly quest to serve the interest of his people efficiently God will bestow him an invincible power to crush his enemies and keep soaring height. How I wish our leaders would take such giant step toward having a peaceful and developed society.
All these lingering insecurities will never cease to exist if govt keeps folding it hands and if it keeps condemning as well as sending shocks as formal lamentation to it’s people, meanwhile romancing devils through unabated series of warning without physical actions it would keep adding a fuel to the burning flame, nothing but that. Government should try to extricate her people from the shackles of ignoramus at all cost, no cause for alarm, the earlier they act wittingly the better for them to have a positive result. Just bombard their hiding residents else you will never have them crush.
With regards to the victims of poor governance those people in the captivity of the marauding bandits and kidnappers, government should use all that they have in their arsenal to secure them for failure to do so will throw the light of hypocrisy at our face considering the fact that during the hey days of APC activism many of them harshly accused past govt of doing business with it people for failure to secure Chibok girls from the hand of Boko Haram. So, now history is a living witness to all wise men, once they abandoned them and got killed by those bloody fools, we will never forgive them because we can’t afford loosing potentials in cold blood as this and they should bear it in mind, history shall never be nice to them.
Finally, As for me and you and other ordinary citizens of this great country we should be vigilant with our vicinity whatever we glance at that give us second thought around us, we should as matter of urgency take it to the nearest security station for peace and tranquility purpose. And above all everyone must stick to praying for it’s the only spiritual meditation that solve the unimaginable predicaments in a miraculous ways and it’s the only invisible weapon that destruct the evils plot of devils, known and unknown and wherever it is.
Nigeria shall sail through the all odds. We are optimistic about the future.
” A stitch in time save nine ” as they said.
