Nigerian police officers deprived of their benefits

While it is saddening to be wakening everyday to; hearing of various abnormal situations in the country vis-à-vis insecurity, the field officers who have been putting their lives on the line and risk are silently been denied a whole 6 months arrears by the Authority of Nigerian Police force. This absurd action by the Authority concern have been triggering serious intentions amidst the rank and file of police officers which can lead to a situation which might put the nation at a danger zone.

The officers are taken to be the enforcers of law and they shouldn’t be deprived of their benefits in any way. While the senior officers from the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police to Inspector General of police have received their 4 months arrears and junior officers in the grade level 03, 04, 05, 06, and few of 07 have also taken their arrears, officers in the grade level 08,09,10 were left unpaid and left to their fate.
This action is synonymous to divide and rule amidst the officers of the law as this will even lead to disunity amidst the junior and senior officers. it is very much unhealthy to our nation Nigeria at this electoral period to be tickling with the security of lives and properties of Nigerians because of interests of few in the authority.

The officers are meant to be satisfied by all means as our security lies in them and they sacrifice everything in their comfort zone for national pride. Why should the government deprive them of their legitimate right.

Before the planned mega protest planned by the officers, the government must pay them all what is needed and they should stop all these,” monkey dey work baboon dey chop.” Actions of the authority in question.
Lastly, a panel should be set up to review the rots in the police affairs as numerous negative actions by the authorities will always ignite bad signals in the minds of the police officers.
