I have come to realise that when history is authored by sentiment, the Knowledge of the readers and the Next Generation becomes Shallow.

Those who have read or heard of the Novel “Animal Farm” and understand it, will agree with me that may be the Author mirror what is currently happening in Nigeria today in the novel.

The Animals thought and felt that their problems where the Humans and if only the humans are out of the Farm, beasts of England shall be best to human.

Comrades, the Sarcasm of George Onwell came live when the Pigs are the revolutionist for beautiful and clean agitation of the Animal Kingdom.

The questions that need to be asked, by deep thoughtful individuals on this current issue are who are these individuals behind the groups of
both side? What are their individual or collective ideology? Do they understand the pains of the Common Nigerians? Will this agitation solve the current economic recession or Security challenges bedeviling the Nation? Have they visited or stayed in any other region in Nigeria outside their region to appreciate the Uniqueness of our diversity? If their style of agitation is built on Democratic belief, did they
bother to ask members of their said region before making any pronouncement that pertain to the region? Was there any conference or town hall meeting where such decision was taken by the sons and daughters of the region?. What will happen to the common man in case
war break out which nobody prays for as a result of their style imposed voice of the voiceless of the common man?

On the other hand, Just as people see lawyers as part of the problem of the Society because they believe that the work of Lawyers to shield criminals from Justice as expressed by one of the rebel in the works of William Shakespeare’s Henry VI Part II, “The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers”. Should this be opined of the current styles of reportage adopted by the new generation of Journalists in Nigeria by giving relevance to individuals which act or actions need sanitary orientation or educational rescue: however, since Government and the society in general has decided to patronise and pay homage to these styles of agitation or expression of this individuals then the
worse is yet to fall on this our beloved Nation.

Though it will be hard to censor every information that goes to the public domain with the advent of new media(Social Media). But it is necessary to note that as a Journalist, Political, Socio-Economic and Public analyst , we owe the public the duty to inform them what they should know not what they want to hear.

We should remember the words of Abraham Lincoln “After the war we will remember not the voice of our enemies but the silence of our friends” as experience is the best teacher but is better to learn from other people’s experience because there are some experience that the individual will not live to learn from
