Of Nigeria’s Political System And Its Possible Solution -By Abubakar Muhammad Usman

Nigerian political system has changed into the system of favoritism, that exposed us to topsy-turvy, higgledy-piggledy and hugger-mugger.

The Nigerian political system has changed, the system of somehow I must say. The system has originated and fetched from favor, that leaders use to give to the candidates of their choice. When the leaders jump to the last step of their leadership, they use to bring someone into the government as their replacement. That is not a good idea to our entire nation, because the brought once bear the character of their bosses. Suppose to say whenever the leaders tenure is due, new candidates should be on their kneels to break the wall of the national mind politically, not to be guided by fore leaders to win the election. But, any interested candidate has a believe that he/she will be introduced by his/her boss, and that is the point that brings communal misunderstanding and national at large. The system will be rectified, only when the mind of the leaders gone to the believe of allowing voters to cast to whom they give believe of bringing change within their society, and when the voters start looking for good qualities of the candidates and neglect the issue of voting for whom last leader brought to them.

The Nigerian political system also described on the table of discrimination, that introduced by the voters. The voters have an intention of rejecting any candidate of different ethnic or religion of their own, because they think that is the sign of patrioticness, but the naked truth here; it is a sign of illiteracy, because they forget to consider about qualities of the candidate. The candidate thinks he will not be voted for, for he jumped from different ethnic group or religion. To me, that is the bad thought from candidates and the voters, because political qualities and aims should be looked for.

The intentions of the candidates and pattern of leading is our worse part that everyone cries for. Any candidate looks for opportunity to win and own alternatives and luxury things. Nowadays, is the major and giant case that hinders and covers the arrival of our national development. Since the leader is the servant of his followers, the thought of changing life through national belongings should be rinsed from the mind of any interested candidate.

Not only that, the issue of zoning is on the list, because many voters forget about qualities of the candidate and look for from where the candidate resides, candidate’s zone is not important in case of a good leader. Voters should park the thought of choosing candidate’s zone and look for the aims of the candidate. If the thought of considering the candidate’s zone is not rinsed from the mind of the voters, the development of our country will continue to run on the system of political heinous.

The solutions of the problems is too expensive like the needle in the river, so we must stand and look with no eyes, but our minds to fetch the way out no matter how deep it is. That is the only way to let our country survive afresh. Forgive me, our country has been lost. Not only because the presence of economical lameness or social discrimination, because of the presence of current situation of kidnaping and banditry. They are all born and originated from the political disorder and politicians misunderstanding, if not so, why the leaders fail to settle the country?.

The problems of our current situation, which deal with our country will not be vanished, unless our leaders change their characters of bringing their replacement and let voters choose the candidate of their choice; who will deal with their problems instead of introducing one to them.

The voters should tramp out their intention of not to vote for who is not from their religion and who is from different ethnic group of their own.

The candidates should stop making vows of becoming millionaire with the national belongings, forget about using their power to humiliate the people of different religion and ethnic group of their own and remember to work for their fatherland. The voters should also remember to break the thought of zoning and cast their votes for who will meet their development, for zoning is one among the political problems within us.

At last, the fathers (fore leaders), candidates and voters we have to merge, compile and gather our serious, thought and capacity to bring the unbreakable development that will serve as an example to the other countries in the world. That is the only way that will take us to pursue our dreams of brighter tomorrow and fix the picture of our country in the world.
