Oyo LG polls: Segelu unveils branded vehicle for PDP campaign in Lagelu

The PDP stalwart lauded the pragmatic and purposeful leadership of Makinde who recently clocked 56, noting that the governor has not disappointed the party and Oyo people in the way he has handled and managed the affairs of the state since he took over the mantle of leadership in 2019.

A Germany-based business entrepreneur and Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Olayinka Segelu, has unveiled a branded campaign vehicle meant to be used by his political team to work for the party’s chairmanship and councillorship candidates in Lagelu Local Government Area (LGA) for the Oyo State LG elections holding on April 27, 2024.

Hon Segelu, the Chairman/CEO of YSEG Hotels and Suites Ibadan, while expressing total confidence that the PDP will record overwhelming victory in the local government election, said his action was in support of Governor Seyi Makinde’s goodwill for the people of Lagelu LGA and his giant developmental stride in Oyo State.

The PDP stalwart lauded the pragmatic and purposeful leadership of Makinde who recently clocked 56, noting that the governor has not disappointed the party and Oyo people in the way he has handled and managed the affairs of the state since he took over the mantle of leadership in 2019.

“I and the entire members of my political team are throwing our weight solidly behind the chairmanship and all councillorship candidates of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagelu Local Government Area (LGA) for the Oyo State LG election fixed for April 27th, 2024. We are providing a branded campaign vehicle to facilitate the movement of our team in the course of the campaign for the Lagelu PDP chairmanship candidate, Hon. Kamorudeen Mudashiru Morenikeji, his vice, Hon. Raji Sadiq Olayinka, and all the councillorship candidates from Ward 1 to 14. 

“We are encouraged and determined to work for the victory of the party in the coming local council poll because of the exceptional and exemplary leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde who has clearly left no stone unturned and worked round the clock to see to the overall development and total transformation of our dear Oyo State,” Hon. Segelu said in a statement.

According to him, “Governor Makinde at 56 has lived a much fulfilled life worthy of emulation and commendation. Engr. Makinde at 56 has made great exploits and recorded remarkable feats in life. He has distinguished himself both in the private sector and public service. As Oyo State governor, under his watch the state economy has recorded significant growth and progress with evidence of his outstanding performance in the areas of education, agriculture, healthcare, road construction, tourism, transportation, infrastructure, trade and investment.”

Segelu, a House of Reps aspirant for Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency in 2015 and 2023, who distributed food items to his loyalists for the celebration of the festive period, wished the people of Oyo State and Nigeria in general a prosperous new year.

He said: “As we gloriously march into the New Year, I wish you all a happy and flourishing 2024 filled with laughter, love and cherished moments. May each day of the year 2024 be a new opportunity for you to create lasting memories. Happy New Year!”
