Peter Obi: Religious Bigotry And Do-or-die Politics -By Richard Odusanya

With the kind of falsehood, deceitfulness and incendiary comments including the so-called movement “Obidients” described as “Headless mob” by Prof Chukwuma Soludo the current Governor of Anambra state – the stage was set for a dangerous precedence.

Permit me to begin with the oratorical articulation about issues concerning religion by Sir Arthur Charles Clarke CBE FRAS, an English science-fiction writer, science writer, futurist, inventor, undersea explorer, and television series host. Charles posited: “One of the great tragedies of mankind is that morality has been hijacked by religion. So now people assume that religion and morality have a necessary connection. But the basis of morality is really very simple and doesn’t require religion at all.”

Admittedly, covering our evil in our religion is the height of hypocrisy. If we wear God like clothes and ignore His characteristics, we would have unwittingly misrepresented the most high God and pretentiously be living a holier than thou life. As a people we need to redefine our connection and relationship with our creator the God that rules in the affairs of men. What is more, the influence of our reverend ‘Men of God’ is unquantifiable and somehow ‘selectively saintly.’

Ideally, a guide to the nature and history of philosophy of religion would begin with an analysis or definition of religion. Unfortunately, there is no current consensus on a precise identification of the necessary and sufficient conditions of what counts as a religion. “Religious evils” as those evils “committed in the name of supernatural beings, often with the explicit approval of religious leaders”

Unarguably, Nigeria dodged a bullet by making sure Obi came far behind at the 3rd position in the just concluded election. “Yes daddy,” no wonder former President Olusegun Obasanjo in his New Year poisonous letter described Peter Obi as a needle with different thread passing through it. Which makes him very easy to be controlled by anyone. Thank God that patriotic Nigerians rejected him at the election.

With the kind of falsehood, deceitfulness and incendiary comments including the so-called movement “Obidients” described as “Headless mob” by Prof Chukwuma Soludo the current Governor of Anambra state – the stage was set for a dangerous precedence. Hence the Nigeria’s political dilemma started to manifest unprecedented dimensions with our fault-lines assuming it’s highest mark. This is the realities of our beloved country Nigeria.

As evidenced in several of my recent articles warning about the consequences of religious bigotry, fake prophecies and inciting statements from the pulpits by many of our pastors turned marchants of miracles. This is aside from several warnings from senior citizens particularly our elders from the Igbo-nation (Eastern region of our beloved country Nigeria). The most recent one that cannot be ignored comes from Sen Chimaroke Nnamani, who described Peter Obi’s ignoble purpose as a twenty-four years setback for our vibrant compatriots from the eastern part of Nigeria.

In a society rife with delusions and false hope, a realist is seen as an enemy. What is more, their Insanity is graduating to another level as they are now trying to hijack planes. A pathetic situation you drove yourself to with falsehood, deceitfulness and rascality. We need to do an holistic mental renewal in our thought process and emotional stability. Not seeing an individual as a solution to our problems. Peter Obi is a scam packaged as a messiah.

To be clear: the goal of ‘gaslighting’ is to deliberately mess up your head. It’s not a mental illness, but a form of manipulation that promotes emotional and mental abuse. Peter Obi describing election as a “Religious war” is not in any way different from his mentor Olusegun Obasanjo who also sees election as a do-or-die affairs but pretend to be a democrat and statesman.

In conclusion, it is imperative that as a nation; we should begin to see the undemocratic activities of Peter Obi, his VP Datti Baba Ahmed and the “Obingos” (Obidients described as headless mob by Prof Chukwuma Soludo) as a crime against the state. Henceforth, they should be treated as such ( Terrorists and criminals). Nigeria must not burn.
