PETITION TO GOD OVER THE OAT OF VIOLENCE SWORN BY NIGERIAN POLITICIANS

Oh God of creation, you inspired a song amongst us as a pledge to direct our noble course. We had prayed within and out of season to you, that you may guide our leaders aright. The reality of today has bewildered your children with terror and is dwindling our posterity even while we resist its occurrence.

Job your son was pushed to frustration and he lamented that even prisoners enjoy peace, free from shouts and harsh commands. Why O Lord will our politicians in their microscopic numbers threaten our national unity and peace, with the venom of their campaign. Father in heaven, you are the most Excellency, but they have lost their guards as your subjects. They are now too comfortable in their earthly portfolios, that they are willing to unseat themselves to take your place of majesty. They speak fire and cannon shells in their bid to get what they want and their steps accompanied by lightening and thunder, for they strive at all cost onto their ambition. We ought to wonder, can they be God?

Why will we go on living in misery when we have been served our meals on the table of endless fortune? God, you are the only justice that has kept our nation in check. The justice we seek from the custodians of our laws has been denied ipso jure of personal aggrandizement. The cat (terror) has been let loose and all Nigerians are now mice under its claws. The people up there had connived to make power their permanent treasure and they groom their children with defiance to inherit this as their banqueted gift.

God of the poor and the rich, it’s time you show us that you own the chess-board of Nigeria. We refuse to decide anymore because these savages called politicians in this country have clipped the free will you gave us. Their confidence looms because they are aware of the havoc they’ve wrecked on us. We barely feed, we barely sleep and now we barely can breathe. They are bent on removing the last breath from our nostrils unless we comply with their will. We hardly get what you have given to us naturally, until we bend down on our knees to worship their feet. We are in a dilemma of service to you or your children who have gone cataclysmically wild with power.

Decide today O Lord of our generation, to come to our rescue, for our hearts and brains ache with the pains inflicted by the so called high and mighty. They have turned demigods snatching away from us the respect that is due you alone. We know you live up there in the top floor of your imperial chambers. We appeal your habeas corpus writ, to release our nation from the detention of Gross Domestic Poverty.

With the way they go about imposing themselves on us, we might be suffocated to yield our resistance. May we never be left to suffer defeat while you live O Merciful Lord. The blind and other physically challenged tender their plea to you too because, their numbers increase by the day as we witness brutality of all sorts. We still believe that these men and women are all under your control; please father in heaven, do something to curb their excesses. We adore you because you have averted the worse, not because we had a strong military but because you’ve averted the total collapse of its sanity of purpose.

Thank God we are free from the opium of deceit. We shall retract from the counsel of those we call the wise for the wisest counsellor has availed us Himself. How can a human being win a case against God I thought it a blissful irony. We were ready to mortgage our lives to fix this nation; our youths were ready to give their bodies as slaves so that the land can yield fruits. Our parents even had to bribe the merchants of Nigeria democracy (god fathers) with their blessings from the royal alters. All these they did to appease their taste for our blood. If only they could find the ground to spare our flesh? But their cravings like vampires threw more demands on our table of privation.

There seem to be no more gossips in our market place because nothing seems to jolt the average Nigerian anymore. We live our lives expecting almost anything from worse to worst. Oh God you alone can tell our minds, that we were not born with any trace of pessimism. But, look what we’ve become in the face of a hopeful mirage.

You had called our politicians out of their thatched houses to serve the needs of your people, only for them to see the calling as a means of establishing an NGO for themselves and their generations. Wisest king, the God that knows from the end, please do you consider our request vane? We will not mind offering you our own heads because these creatures demand our heads, for they have no fear of your might.

Anomalies adorn our news screen, contradictions we are forced to digest as truth haunts us. Father of our Nation, if you don’t intervene sooner, we might loose grip of your divine nature because, how can we know you when we don’t get a chance to know the truth? We beseech your comfort as we are so scared to discomfort.

A community of vipers (greedy politicians), are out to cause your children grave harm from their poisonous plots. They are so confident in the might and pedigree of their arsenals, they not only made good plans of their evil intentions, they are ready to contrive more sophisticated and better plans with far reaching consequences on the masses. We cannot resist them for our strength lies in getting our daily bread. Often than is expected they condition us to do their dirty jobs because they are ready to hold our lungs till we assent to their demand.

If a gardener cannot eat the fruits of his garden then, is it not better he gives up the name GARDENER. We as Nigerians have been forced to the point of obscurity pertaining to our identity. We don’t see how we can become better catered for when we disclaim our citizenship. Citizenship is now a piece of word that is found in our constitution. Patriotism has been left obsolete in our oldest museum for foreigners and tourist to view and laugh.

It is a dire that we suffered all these defeat as a nation because most our leaders have decided to be irresponsible in the face of grave national challenges. Our brothers and sisters in Diaspora seem to outnumber the population at home. Of courses we as Nigerians love comfort, even if it is to be at the detriment of the majority. So we are now comfort seekers in strange lands looking around for safe haven in nook and crannies because our homeland has been made so irritating that it does not portend a relief to our slightest comfort. God Nigeria shall become our home not our house if you will. As we strive to make believe that we are at home we sense a blunt refusal for the reality stares at us with irrevocable deniability.

Have mercy on Nigeria and save us from the ruins that has been forecast by statisticians and the adversity prophesied by the oracles of men. We are yours for keeps don’t abandon us now. We are reporting our heart burns to your court so that justice will prevail and you shall make a move from your divine silence.

Where atrocities looms and uncertainty pervades, you alone can restore the needed sanity in your sanctuary Nigeria. Our petition might be a grudge to your court but we believe in your discerning power to listen to us and make a case out our ill-courteous complaints.

You are not a God that demands long speeches; I believe you know better where it hurts us the most. We have been left on the floor for so long for them to trample, and now, all they want for breakfast is our blood and flesh. Father arise, and declare your supremacy in all required quarters. If they plan war, raise a Judas to betray their plans, if they plan rigging our votes let a stubborn Pharaoh arose and deter their tactics. We have confidence that our petition will meet your conviction and we pray your awesome heart to forgive the 159 Million Nigerians’ disbelieve in your sovereignty over our Nation Nigeria. We are also dedicating the less than a million Nigerian politicians to your custody for their redemption. We are confident that your unconventional approach at salvaging the ruins of our land is inexhaustible because your banner over us is love and your grace is sufficient to suppress our atrocities. May your regime never end until the reign of terror meets the reign of peace and tranquility!

GOD LET YOUR RULE FIND US SOLACE IN THIS TIME OF UNCERTAINTY FOR MOTHERLAND NIGERIA
