POLITICS: Fayose Advice Bola Tinubu -By Abdulrasheed Akere

The letter proceed that, “As a knowledgeable student of history whom you are; our great late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo and the celebrated winner of June 12, 1993 general election; Alhaji Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, were led to the Golgotha by self acclaimed “champions of democracy.”

Fayose and Tinubu

Ayodele Fayose was a two term governor of Ekiti state from 2003 to 2006 and 2014 to 2018. He wrote an open letter to Bola Tinubu — the winner of APC presidential primary election tagged “OPEN LETTER TO ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU.” He propelled the letter saying there’s danger in Tinubu’s presidential ambition. He said he was writing as a Yoruba man; not as politician and he is not an APC man and will never be.

The letter read thus: “I am writing based on my observed views and the attached possible dangers about your good-self against tomorrow. One of the undeniable facts is your outburst in Abeokuta, which is a clear indication that you clearly saw a political danger to which you reacted. I equally read the reactions of your political allies both in the North and in the South. The reactions gave me great cause of concern for you and your life. Again, I see danger!”

In a view of things, Bola Tinubu is a man of wisdom trying is possible best to bring the power back to south-west after it has been moved to other zones since 2007 after the presidency of Olusegun Obasanjo. As far as democracy is concern there’s nothing bad or dangerous in embarking on such courteous mission. Fayose should understand that, he who afraid to loss will not win. In the letter, he indicated that he expressed as a Yoruba man. I think this is the high time Bola Tinubu needs your support as a credible Yoruba man to make his dream come to true.

The letter proceed that, “As a knowledgeable student of history whom you are; our great late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo and the celebrated winner of June 12, 1993 general election; Alhaji Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, were led to the Golgotha by self acclaimed “champions of democracy.” I am sure the same people may advice you to ignore my advice.” No ambitious person will take this advice from Fayose, but can have his support to uplift the symbol of the aforementioned heroes.

“I see you as one that may be swimming against the political tide of the cabal in your party. They are equally preparing for your actions and reactions and are fully set to contain same as they did to both Awolowo and Abiola,” the letter reads. As far as democracy is concern, Bola Tinubu is not swimming against APC political tide as shown in the primary election. If he is not competent, no delegate would vote for him talkless of stepping down for him by fellow aspirants.

As a genuine Yoruba man whom you are, your full support is what Bola Tinubu need to clean the havoc of 1993 and to annul the dangerous actions and reactions you speculated. Elderly man should help to battle danger not just to see danger.
