Before Jamie Vardy made up for his missed penalty at the end of the first half with a header in the 65th minute, Wilfred Ndidi gave Leicester City the lead on Filbert Way with a close-range effort 22 minutes in.

After a flurry of Baggies chances, the visitors were denied by incredible goal-line clearances and saves, and Jed Wallace’s breakaway finish set up a thrilling finale. This was the 37-year-old’s 17th goal of the season.

Enzo Maresca’s team had to play heroic defence to cross the finish line, which led to wild celebrations at halftime as the Foxes inched closer to victory.

Leicester has three big games coming up. On Tuesday, they will host Southampton at King Power Stadium in what looks to be another historic night in the second division.

Despite a Baggies assault in every half of the match on Saturday, the Foxes managed to secure a valuable victory that lifted them to 91 points in this nail-biting contest. With three games remaining, the top three teams in the division are separated by two points from Leeds United in third and by four from Ipswich Town in second place. If Southampton wins at Cardiff City later on Saturday, they might tie Leeds with 87 points.
