Religion Is Not The Problem Always! -By Abdulrahman Yunusa

I made omission of Osinbajo from the shackles of blame in the regards for the fact that the events which unfolded in the hey days of APC primaries revealed the stark reality about him. His RCCGification agenda was exposed by same Prof. Who is currently tackling Tinubu on the basis of religion. Yet I love Osinbajo for that reason though.

Recently Prof. Farooq Kperogy described Tinubu as ” Nominal Muslim ” in an attempt to settle some scores against the man in Question which is Bola Ahmed Tinibu APC presidential flag bearer of the forthcoming election 2023. The things goest this way ;

” Until recently, TINUBU didn’t even identify with Islam publicly, is married to a pastor, and ALL his children are Christians. He sees himself first as a Yoruba man before he is a nominal Muslim. “

Though it’s a statement of fact that is few miles away from the reality, but this is not the rationale behind my abomination of Tinubu/Kashim Muslim Muslim Ticket rather to say the least, I detest the combo for the sake of justice, fair play among ethnic groups and religions in the country.

On the other hand, that’s the reason I always advocate Politics separation from religion, for they are two independent institutions that needs to work separately. For the simple reason that almost all the contending presidential candidates have a subtle regards for religion.

With the exception of Osinbajo, majority of Nigerians politicians have no respect for religion whatsoever. Not even Kwankwaso or Atiku, they always pay absolute regards to their political whims rather than the religion and that’s the reason they render less priority to religion when they are in power.

I once had this conviction that politicians should be playing religion cards within the political context until when I became exposed to the current realities that Governance required non religious experts being rather people with excellent track records in management, pious heart and competency as well as being diligent in discharging their duties.

However, that’s doesn’t mean I subside my love for religion or religious people because I do believe that religion is the source of spiritual purification while politics is a game for all jacks. You see these are two different things that could never be in conformity with one another, the one has morality and rationality attached to it why the other lacks both.

Hence I want the institution to be purified from the dust of political beast who are always ready to compromise the institution for their personal interest. As for now that the truest definition of politics has changed from any meaningful definition to this robust and filthous one ” Politics is a game of interest “.

Until we know when and how to play politics at it exact form without conglomerating it with religion, masses will never be at peace with their conscience. Because they will always tend to act in contrary to the true conciseness in an attempt to be in conformity with religion which at the tail end become victims of the circumstances. Thus it depicts nothing but a sheer betrayal go our conscience.

Let’s wake up and part the duo. Else we would end up being at the mercy hand of politico-religiouspreneurship who often seek an avenue to from religion to subjugate the gullible ones from the polity.

May we understand this simple arithmetic and avoid being becoming victims of our terrible mistakes.
