Sanwolu, 2nd term and the Endsars blues -By Abdullahi O. Haruna

The report came out and it was the governor who should be a culprit that received the report in jamboree. He smiled from chin to chin as he pointed at the cameras – his usual trademark! The latent outcome of his stunt is this; he wants to present himself as a good guy, he wants to go for a second term with the bow tie of a good guy thus rubbishing the sacrifices of security personnel who were brutally murdered during the deadly protests.

Those who insinuated that the Endsars protest was a Lagos in-house plot that later boomerang may be right after all! Sanwolu joined the protest at the beginning then scampered when the bad guys hijacked the protest and started burning installations, ransacked the Oba’s sanctuary and murdered many policemen. He sought for help and the military intervened and the story dramatically changed as many were allegedly marked as dead!

Sanwolu became hysteria, incoherent and began to speak from two sides of the mouth. He first denied inviting the military and later admitted inviting them. To save face he set up a panel of inquiry that involved only his kinsmen, no outside body, no security members not even any member of the Endsars!

The man has appeared as inconsistent, double-faced and desperate, he set up the people against the Army, Lai Mohammed and others who stood against the sinister plot of using the protest to achieve an underlined political mileage.

This is not how to be a leader especially someone who is marketing a presidential hopeful, Sanwolu acted self-serving!!!
