The Coward Called Femi Fani-Kayode -By Jeff Okoroafor

Have you forgotten about the tears of the tormented and persecuted, and the cries of the widows and orphans and the bereaved whose loved ones have been butchered by jihadists, religious fanatics, cow-lovers and ethnic supremacists that Buhari has protected and encouraged over the last six years?

Femi Fani-Kayode

In August of 2018, Femi Fani-Kayode wrote and published on his Facebook page, an indicting piece where he addressed and washed down former governor of Akwa-Ibom state, Godswill Akpabio when the fellow decamped to the APC. In the piece, which for the past couple of days has been flying around social media, he asked very interesting questions and made some categorical remarks on the personality and integrity of the former governor who today, sits as a minister in Buhari’s government. Those questions, remarks and pontifications adequately fits into Femi Fani-Kayode’s situation today.

There are countless aspersions cast on the ruling political party as well as on Buhari himself and the style of government he has chosen to run. These aspersions however are still, for its evidential purpose, true and non-debatable. On this, Femi Fani-Kayode was a frontrunner. He called APC an “evil party” that did not mean well for Nigerians, especially Christians. He called APC a party of poverty and shame. He said it is a party that thrives on lies. Not very long ago, 2019 to be precise, Femi Fani-Kayode in a series of tweets where he was denying defection “rumour”, said he’d rather die than join APC or bow to Buhari. Today, after joining APC and taking series of photographs with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Fani-Kayode said: “Joining APC now is the way forward, despite what people may think about it. APC is a liberal party. A lot has happened in APC over the years. The party has changed and the President has accommodated the change. Had the APC leadership not changed, I wouldn’t have joined them. I am doing the right thing based on conviction and understanding. This is the right decision for me. Love me or hate me, it will not take anything away from me.”

I want to ask Fani-Kayode the same questions he asked Godswill Akpabio in August of 2018;

Dear Femi Fani-Kayode, did you go back to your vomit due to your trepidation and fear of the EFCC, or gluttony simply got you trapped? As you asked Akpabio in 2018 I ask you today Femi, where is your faith in God?

In 2018 while you were thwarting and dressing down Godswill Akpabio, you said and I quote, “Buhari is not a man of honour, he is not a worthy ally, he does not keep to his promises and he does not have friends. The only friend he has is his insatiable lost for power…” Dear Fani-Kayode, has Buhari changed today?

Have you forgotten about all those that the Buhari government has killed and all those that have died and suffered in the struggle against him?

Have you, Femi Fani-Kayode forgotten the anguish of those whose loved ones have been locked up indefinitely and those who have been demonised and subjected to the most barbaric and insidious evil witch-hunts in the history of our nation?

Have you also forgotten the practice of double standard in the application of our laws? Have you Mr Femi Fani-Kayode forgotten how the rogues in Buhari’s cabinet and government and governors in his party are above the law and get away with blue murders?

Fani-Kayode, you are a coward, a disappointment and a saboteur. You have no shame, no shred of honour and you have no self-respect. In the end Femi, Obasanjo’s comment about you remain true and an apt description of your personality. God save your soul.
