Also, Immorality is synonymously connected with kidnapping, prostitution, smoking and drinking influence by the peer pressure, ritual killing, unfettered and desperate to have quick money among others. Many of our youths in this 21st Century are towing the path of Satan (Diabolical way) to live a flexing life as other wealth individuals are living extravagant life showcased on social media as mislead majority of our youths running out of the abode and gross misconduct leads to moral degeneration.

According to Oxford Dictionary, Immorality means ‘not conforming to accepted standards of morality; morally wrong (especially in sexual matters), wicked’ by contrast with amoral, which means ‘not concerned with or outside the scope of morality; having no morals’. I will explicitly state out what different scholars postulate but few among them will be posited here on the concept of Immortality.

According to Adewale avers that Immorality is not in conformity with accepted principles of right behavior and it is a violation of the moral code of the community.

In the same vein, Uba he opined that ‘Immorality is the refusal to adhere to the norms or moral code of the group that’s not conforming in behavior to the manners or customs of the social group’. In the critical lens used by the scholars assertion above made this writer to also mount on the assertion that Immorality in a literal sense means something that’s wrong and sinful to the obligation and norms of the society and it outlived the peaceful society and which every member of the group has refused to concede with.

The indulgence of Nigerian youth in immorality such as kidnappings, sexual misconduct, misappropriation of fund, injustice, bribery, embezzlement, cultism, drug smuggling, human trafficking, robbery leads to negative consequences as an end product.

THE DERNIER CRI OF IMMORALITY AMONG NIGERIAN YOUTHS.

The menace Immorality has caused is an irreparable damages to the society because it paints it blue and black. The engagement of youths in Immortality has become a serious dilemma in the society and this crisis can be imply to the non-chalant attitude of different entities such as parents, religious leaders and the society in general which has make this problem to be escalated. The following factors will be unveiled as some of the predominant factors that cause Immorality in the society are:

(1) The Careless Attitude Of Parental Care: Parents who neglect the aspect of giving proper training and orientation to their young ones. Most of the parents nowadays are too busy to give quality time and attention to their wards, strange as it may sound many parents are not available for their wards but proceed to pay their teacher and nanny money to take care of the children and play their roles while parents are too busy out there fending (covering up without considerable humanity).

At the end, the parents will now be strangers to their children. According to what Hassan view, he aver that ‘Parents should talk to their ward, answer their questions, go on site seeing with them, tell them stories and give them a sense of security and confidence. In shaping the life of youths, all hands must be on deck and not leaving the responsibility to the foster parents and schools to shoulder it up to church and mosques to help restore the cultural value and instill the moral back to the society.

Inadvertently, the current problem we are facing in the society or community as to the lackadaisical attitude of parents as brought imminent threat to the growth of the child and the society in its entirety.

(2) Peer Pressure In The Society: According to Uche, Peer group is the child’s own friends and equals. Peer pressure or group from friends, families or equals instill the value and behavior display to youths they were in contact with, That is why Torbet also noted that youth agreed with and abide by norms of their peers in contradiction to those parents, schools and society.

Peer Pressure affects the child socialization either positive or negative but it has changed to the extent that our youths of nowadays has thrown away our normal cultural norms and values into waste dustbin and embrace the another sophisticated ones for instance Homosexuality, Drinking of Alcohol, incest and others as become part and parcel of their vein marrow. This is horribly changing their mindset and not minding the repercussions that might ensue.

(3) Poverty: It means living in improverish state of no food, shelter to make up living. Also, abject poverty is defined as not having the basic things of life to live in comfortability. This has driven majority of our youths to join Internet fraudsters to make the ends meets and to live in comfortability as others do while our ladies joins the league of prostitute in the street to fend for themselves and live an extravagant life as others without checking and looking back what will be the consequences of what they indulge theirselves into it. The notion of which you’re not living up to expectations has cross hooked their mind and pushing them to engage in those sinful acts. Rushing beyond and not waiting for their time has plunged them to be dying immaturely.
