In the bid to 2019 general election, extra was brought out from ordinary; the waves of Kwara politics metamorphosed from the supposed hegemonic system to conduit of rebellions fighting for the rebirth of the state.

Several stunts were displayed to (dis)orientate the masses about the disaster the state may face if so and so tent should be in the state’s affairs. One would wonder where has been these froward souls before the advent of the 2019 general election; it is evident that the real facts for their massive engagements towards redefining the state’s attorney were hidden behind a smokescreen of lies, selfishness, and ditto egocentric.

Again, another Public figure from the ruling party of the state in a viral video dissented with the number one citizen of the state on the reasons not limited to but; not being called to the table for discussion related to governing the state, abandonment without getting certain prerequisite by the stakeholders, and many others.

What is evident beyond any dispute is that most politicians have no positive idea what rebirth is about, one couldn’t but to find it hard to consume the fact that they have any clear cut plan for moving the state forward. If the narrative thus far is the yardstick, then one won’t be wrong to say that for the current breed of politicians in power, rebirth is an ipse dixit; rebrand dynasty is a movement of the privileged few for the benefit of themselves, families and associates.
Rebrand movement was supposed to be a democratic movement that ought to be a government of the people, by the people and for the people. It is not different from having a stage where politicians deeming it necessary that rebirth is the government of the politicians, by the politicians and for the politicians only.

The Executive Governor aims at bringing the manifestation of rebirth on the faces of the masses, the have-nots, the downtrodden, the dispirited, but the politicians despite the noise about rebirth and its lagniappe, they are still wallowing about not having their own shares and less considerate about the tyrannized living in abject poverty, hunger, disease, squalor, besmirched, underemployment, and many other iniquitous man-made quagmires.

Since the emergence of the rebrand dynasty, the number one citizen has been relentless in progressive ameliorating of not only the state’s infrastructural network but also exalting all critical institutions to socio-political and democratic advancement. It is saddening and disturbing seeing forces teaming up to grinding such Government to a halt.

Ergo, as far as ordinary electorates are concerned, new Kwara is not for them, it is for the politicians and their cronies. The masses are yet to be fully enjoying the promises of the campaign, they are expecting to witness genuine, real, and concrete improvement in their standard of living, and not a fleet of foreign flash luxury cars, mansions, and appurtenances.

Building up for and against scrimmage would be on interplay in the nearest few months; the masses will be left to decide yet another fate on reconsidering or continuing. Who will be the winner and loser of the purported game?

It is high time our politicians took not Politics as a means of livelihood and survival; a must gain business contrary to the promises given to the populace during the electioneering. They should stop showing the expanse of their selfishness to the masses by aiming to acquire the treasury at the expense of the masses.

The electorates voted for change not just to put a stop to pile fleeting of expensive cars and deluxe houses while suffering in reticence but also to allow new breeds and fresh waves of leadership to steer the affairs of the state to canal land with all sincerity and minds of services to God and Humanity.
